I don't understand how you can call in every day to NVC asking for updates. I gave it a full week before calling in and they yelled at me that it hadn't been 20 days and to stop calling till it had been.

I hear you. I try not to call too much but called 2 days in a row and when I got the 20 days BS I leeched at the operator that I know a dozen people whos packages only took 2 weeks and I told the operator to please just look into your system if my IV package is there or not. But next time I call on Monday and before the operator asks me when I sent the package I'm just going to straight say please I know you're told to tell me to call 20 days after sending my package, although it only has been 2 weeks since I sent mine, could you just look into your computer and tell me if my IV package is in your system or not? Thank you. Lets see if the operator is going to be able to add to that or not lol.

I sent in my last package on a Tuesday. I waited till the following Monday to start my barrage of calling. I wanted to know asap if there was a problem. No way was I going to wait min. 20 days to start calling. If they yell at you, just hang up. It's their job to answer our questions, not to yell at us telling us to stop calling. Only once did I get a rude operator that told me to stop calling. I ignored him and just called back the next day as usual.

I've never had a rude operator, they've all been very friendly...so far. We just paid our AOS fee this morning, finally! :)

A couple of days ago I got tired of waiting and called in to see if they were actually reviewing my case again (after I sent in proof that the police certificate RFE was a mistake). The operator gave me the same "from what I see here, you are required to send in a police certificate from the UK" as I always get. This time, though, he actually connected me to a supervisor when I refuted it. The supervisor said I was right about the certificate and also said she would personally request my file if I wanted, so I said okay. She gave me her name and told me to call back late next week.

I guess they might have gotten to my case next week anyway, so I hope I did the right thing asking the supervisor to request it. Do supervisors have to sign off on all the cases before completion anyway? Just hoping I saved myself some time...

Please does anyone know how long it will take to get an interview date after an expedite?

It all depends on the consulate/embassy. You can get an interview date within a few days or it might take longer. It will always vary on how busy the consulate/embassy is.

Thank you! I just have to wait for it to show "paid" now, and hopefully pay the IV fee this week too and be done with NVC before the end of May *fingers crossed*

Your interview is very very soon! You must be excited/nervous at the same time :)

Yes, it is! It actually took me awhile to fall asleep last night as I kept thinking about it. I'm sure I won't be sleeping much the next two nights. My anxiety level keeps going up each day. laughing.gif

I bet, but I'm sure it'll be a quick and painless interview for you. Will Ben be joining you?

Btw, I have a question about e-mailing the AOS and IV packages. Should I wait for both invoices to show as "paid" to e-mail them at the same time (like regular mail) or should I just e-mail the AOS package as soon as the invoice show as "paid" ?

I'm sure it will be fast, but nonetheless, I'm still nervous. And no, Ben won't be joining me. I won't be seeing him again till I get to the USA when I move in less than 2 weeks.

Nope, you can send the AOS right away. If you waited, you'd have to send them in separate emails anyways. So it's just better to send the package off as soon as it shows PAID and you add the cover sheet to the beginning of the PDF.

would there be a reason that it's taking NVC forever to invoice the IV Bill? paid it 4/22 and it cleared on the 25th. they wouldn't be waiting to receive the AOS packet before they invoice the IV bill would they?

The AOS and IV are two separate tracks. When did you send in the DS-3032 and when was it accepted? The IV bill only appears once they accept the DS-3032; it has nothing to do with receiving the AOS or anything.

i emailed the ds-3032 on the 20th. do they acknowledge this through the AVR as well? i assumed they got the ds-3032 since they replied to the email.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

"This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by telephone, mail, or email), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this occurs, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process."

after this email we got the ds-3032 and after that we got the AOS bill invoice.

so i paid that and now just waiting for it. i find it odd that it's been a week since the AOS bill was paid and still no IV bill.
