Only those doing Electronic Processing will get a case complete email. As you didn't do EP, you won't be getting a case complete email. The next, and last, correspondence you'll be getting is from NVC with the interview package attached.

Thanks, Saylin. That explains the lack of corresponce after CC! You are wonderful! Thanks.

You're welcome! Hopefully the interview date gets assigned to you soon! Keep calling NVC and DOS to find out ;)

Did you receive an optin acceptance email from NVC? If you didn't, then I'd say your case isn't EP. If you did get the email, then the operator today didn't know what they were talking about.

Here's a link to the thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/194465-how-to-track-your-case-from-nvc-to-embassy/ Remember to read the whole thread as the format for the reference number has changed. And also, your ship only gets cased after an interview date has been assigned, so you might still have some waiting to do. But you can start practicing on how the site works ;)

*pokes her head in* Hi! Still waiting on the NVC to issue a number. Is it sad that even though the hubby and I are going to drag our feet in this, I still want them to hurry up and freaking give us a case number already? :hehe:

Have you spoken to a person yet? or just checking the recorded message?? I checked my recorded message on Friday and it said No case on file yet, but then called and talked to an operator and got everything!!! Good luck!

Congratulations!!

Did you receive a Case Closed email from NVC, and then the interview email? Our case was closed on April 1st and AVR says the case was closed, but we haven't received any emails so far. I don't know if that is normal.

Thank you Disha. My case was expedited so the only email I received from NVC was to tell me to contact the Consulate/Embassy if I had questions. I heard my "case closed" via the AVR. You should get an email from the Consualte/Embassy notifying you of the interview date and time.

Just curious...on what grounds can we request expedited processing?

This is what I sent. I don't think the military portion played a part in the decision because they never asked for proof that I was going to deploy. I think some others have used the "financial hardship" and/or USICS error portions... it may work for you too.

NVC Case Number: RDJ2011XXXXXX

USICS Case Number: WAC........

Petitioner: Name

Petitioner DOB: Birthday

Beneficiary/Applicant: Name

Beneficiary/Applicant DOB: Birthday

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing you to request an expedite of our I-130 petition through NVC. I have three situations that I believe could possibly qualify us for expedite.

1. I am active duty military; due to the delay at USCIS, the normal NVC processing times, and the 4-7 month processing time at the Consulate in Brazil, by the time my wife arrives in the US it would put me extremely close to my deployment time frame. Not to mention, with the current tensions and tragedies throughout the world, I could be called upon to deploy sooner than expected. My wife knows no one in the US and if I were to deploy (for 8+ months) immediately following her arrival, this would put her in a extremely difficult situation. What would she do, how would she get around, how would she get to work/school, etc? Due to my military service, I move every 3 years and do not have family nearby to assist her. The sooner she gets here, the sooner we can start preparing for my deployment (license, work/school, meeting people, etc.). I can't imagine being away from my spouse for over a year, arriving to a new country (to spend the rest of my life with someone), and then they leave for deployment.

2. Financial Hardship: I personally don't have many bills but, since we filed our petition (August 2010), my wife's employment status and living arrangements have changed. With that being said, not only am I paying for her living expenses and education but, now I'm also paying for her rent. I live in California (where the price of housing is ridiculously high) and I'm also sending her anywhere between $750 to $1000 every month, which is starting to put me in a financial bind. It's getting to the point where not only am I not able to save money... I'm actually having to dip into our "Immigration" savings account to make ends meet.

3. USCIS Error #1. I filed our I-130 in early August 2010. It was transferred from CSC to TSC to speed up processing but, due to "a number of unforeseen circumstances" at TSC, they went beyond their normal processing times and were subsequently returned back to CSC for processing. According to one of the USCIS "alerts", NVC was briefed about this and would assist in approving our cases as soon as possible. Here is the link: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=d06835e66570e210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD. Shortly after our petition was sent to TSC, I received a notice that our application had been sent to NVC but returned to USCIS for "review". I knew this was an error because I never received a notice of approval or anything stating that our petition was sent to NVC. It took me two months to get them to investigate and correct this error. According to the USCIS Ombudsman, USCIS (TSC) inadvertently entered an incorrect code into their electronic system. Even though I had an approved expedite, my petition was at a standstill until this "electronic error" could be corrected. It just so happens that the error was corrected when our case was transferred back to CSC.

Thank you in advance for taking our petition under consideration.

Sincerely,

My Name

Chief Petty Officer

United States Navy
