By the way, I'm the beneficiary, so I'll be the one arriving in the US, not the other way around.

And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! I will only be absent for three days in May when I'm driving to the USA with all my stuff and then the weekend after since it'll be my one year anniversary :D

;) yayyyy ...but we don't expect you on right away...after all you still need a second honeymoon :) but really...thanks for everything you do...and replying with dignity to the questions...even tho sometimes they seem a little off...or easily found...

as you know this is a very serious and committed journey for all of us...without eachother's support all it does is create issues....

ive been downed due to replies from a certain person here that doesnt think my marriage is real (actually i think they think all marriages from places like Pakistan are fraud and while there are some that are...more often the rest are real) and thats not what this is about...my marriage is more real than anything and i cant wait until my hubby gets here so we can start our family..smthing that's put on hold due to miles of separation...and probably AP due to him being from pakistan :( not sure how to get around that but we are doing everything we can to ensure that they know this is a real marriage...Time will tell as to how long he will be in AP...we do expect it...we arent seeing the world thru rose colored glasses...

but its nice to know we have friends here that understand and respect us as individuals and can help us when we are in need :)

I called the NVC and the operator started out by quoting (again) that statement on the UK Reciprocity page. I just let her know that I'm aware of that statement and where it comes from, but that it doesn't accurately represent the regulation at issue. She put me on hold a couple of times, allegedly to confer with someone more knowledgeable. When she came back she told me that I could go ahead and just e-mail them explaining the mistake. Knowing that you had some success following a similar route, I was OK with this suggestion. I sent the e-mail along with "proof" of how long he was in the UK (kind of hard since Europeans don't get stamps on their passports when traveling within the EU, but I did my best)... then I followed up with hard copies in the mail. Hopefully they will clear things up soon!

Thanks again for your help, jennie ann, and I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming interview! Glad to see your visa journey is nearing its end. smile.gif

BTW I went to university in Scotland and I'm a big fan of the UK... just not a big fan of the cost of their police certificates! Haha.

That's good that they're letting you email your explanation and evidence to them. One operator told me I had to mail in something in writing, so I called back and spoke to a supervisor to ask if there was a faster way (i.e. email), and she said that wouldn't work (looking back, I probably should have done that anyway ON TOP of what I mailed!). It's all right though, everything worked out in the end and we got an interview date quickly.

Thanks and best of luck to you too!

Well, it's gonna be hard to have a second honeymoon (I never even had a first one :P ) when my husband has used up all his vacation days to come visit me in Canada over the last year laughing.gif I'm just going to be happy that I'm finally back in the USA with him. That's enough for me :D

And I'm more than happy to answer questions, whether they seem silly or not, or if the answers are easy to find or not. I remember having a bunch of questions myself and it's this wonderful supportive community that helped me through. And now I'm trying to do the same for everyone else here. I want to pay it forward.

As for the person who doesn't think your marriage is real, just ignore them. As long as you know your marriage is valid and real, that is all that matters. The opinion of some other person should not matter.

I know that Middle-Eastern countries have a harder time at the interview due to being in a high-fraud country, but just make sure your spouse has all documentation needed and a lot of evidence. Just stay positive and know that you'll both be reunited once again in the USA soon.

Perhaps try in a few hours. But stick with IE.

Thanks. Works now. Dunno if it was fixed or trying on another computer with IE8 not IE9 helped.

When do I get to submit DS260?

@EAbbas - forget those ignorant fools who make those comments. Best of luck.

Wow, if it's been more than a year apart, then yeah, I can definitely understand for you ;) By the time I get to the USA and be with my husband, it will only have been a bit more than 2 months apart. Regardless, South Dakota will be "rockin too" laughing.gif

Ditto to this! Saylin, your kindness and patience are an inspiration to us all! I hope your first and second honeymoons come back-to-back... better yet, why not make the honeymoon as long as the visa process!

@EAbbas- I'm sorry that some people have been bringing you down. None of us have conventional love stories or we wouldn't be in this glorious mess right now. Their judgments will ring hollow when you are back in the arms of your loved one. Chin up! smile.gif

EAbbas,

Saylin is wonderful, she is always one of the first to happily answer questions, obvious or not :) What a sweetheart!

As for others not believing that your marriage is bona fide, tell them to screw off. A lot of people on here are ignorant and will put others down to make themselves feel better during this daunting process. The only people that matter are you and your husband. There is no shortage of idiots on this planet. So, ignore them and continue with your process and stay positive because we are all here to support each other on VJ :)

Thanks your right and I choose not to try to defend myself bcos our actions speak louder than words...and we didnt marry impulsively...there was a lot to think about before we committed to eachother ...take away the nationalities and we are all the same...just ppl with the same goals..to love and be loved in a good respectful loving relationship...bottom line ;)
