Just got a fake SIF on NVC portal.

It says maintenance from 3-3:30pm, but it may have something to do with that?!

Hope it is SIF for you! Could you update your timeline and your signature? When did you send your packages? Right now its taking about a day or two shy of 2 weeks after NVC receives the packages.

No problem! That's interesting (about the reciprocity by country info) – I see now that it was the same on my RFE. So basically, they just copy that information to give you instructions on how to obtain police certificates from the relevant country, which makes me think you don't really have to worry about it if NVC doesn't actually require the police certificate (which they shouldn't in your husband's situation, according to their rules). In this case, I'm fairly confident that your situation is pretty much like mine and you can respond in the same way, but yeah, definitely call to make sure. Good luck!

I called the NVC and the operator started out by quoting (again) that statement on the UK Reciprocity page. I just let her know that I'm aware of that statement and where it comes from, but that it doesn't accurately represent the regulation at issue. She put me on hold a couple of times, allegedly to confer with someone more knowledgeable. When she came back she told me that I could go ahead and just e-mail them explaining the mistake. Knowing that you had some success following a similar route, I was OK with this suggestion. I sent the e-mail along with "proof" of how long he was in the UK (kind of hard since Europeans don't get stamps on their passports when traveling within the EU, but I did my best)... then I followed up with hard copies in the mail. Hopefully they will clear things up soon!

Thanks again for your help, jennie ann, and I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming interview! Glad to see your visa journey is nearing its end. smile.gif

BTW I went to university in Scotland and I'm a big fan of the UK... just not a big fan of the cost of their police certificates! Haha.

IV bill showed up today. BUT when i go to payment portal and select IV and hit "Pay selected fees" - NOTHING HAPPENS!!!!

Popup blocker off, tried another browser.

Anyone with similar problems today???

If you're not using Internet Explorer, switch to it. The payment portal is designed for IE, and the site will most likely be wonky on any other browser.

I thought (and maybe its my mistake) that once its sent it wouldnt take but maybe a week to load and start review? How long before I see any other progress? It takes about 2-3 weeks after they receive your package in the mailroom for it to actually be looked at and reviewed by an officer. You still have another week or two of waiting. But obviously, keep calling as often as you can to see if there's any update on your case.

By the way, I'm the beneficiary, so I'll be the one arriving in the US, not the other way around.

And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! I will only be absent for three days in May when I'm driving to the USA with all my stuff and then the weekend after since it'll be my one year anniversary :D
