Is that copy of canadian permanent residence card that they asked for in RFE?

Am getting together IV package for EP. My wife is a Canadian citizen. Do I have to add her canadian permanent residence card too to the package? Hope not coz, I duuno if she still has it.....!

once we get our case number, can we go ahead and email the choice of agent or do we have to wait?

Go ahead and email, as long as you've given the operator your email addresses and/or opted in for electronic contact.

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

Getting IV package together to have it ready. Less documents to scan this time.

• Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)

• Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport

• Birth Certificate of beneficiary

• Marriage Certificate

• Police Certificates for Beneficiary

Anything else I should be including in package other than Document cover sheet & Cover letter?

You have to remember the list of required documents is only for the basic cases where the beneficiary is a citizen of the country. There are always other documents that might be needed if your case is not "normal". Like those on previous J1 visas have to send in proof they fulfilled the residency requirement, even though that's not on the list of required documents.

If she's a Canadian citizen, then it's fine. Was she naturalised though? If she was born in Canada, then she wouldn't have a permanent resident card. If she was naturalised though, it might be a good idea to send in the certificate.

I'm not positive it's a requirement, but just to be on the safe side, it'd be a good idea to send it.

Yes it is the permanent residence card, but i dont think you would need it if your wife has a canadian passport. If not then just to be safe maybe you could add it at the very end of your IV package. Wouldn't hurt. :)

I realise i needed to show proof of legal stay here but did not realise NVC needed to see it. Well i guess others will learn from my mistake.

I never got auto-replies for my sent documents... and yet, a few days later I received an official reply from NVC saying they received them, so don't worry too much. I over-worried and resent it twice... ended up with NO auto-replies, but 3 confirmations a few days later. LOL They probably think I'm nuts. oh well! But i have received auto-replies for just regular emails. weird.

Oh, #######. I didn't know about this one. My husband had a J1 in 2009... the "2 year rule" didn't apply to him, but I can see how I should probably prove that. I did send proof that he fulfilled the requirements in the I-130 package, but I doubt they will look in there. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Saylin! Better to preempt another checklist.

I'm never going to get out of the NVC!
