Finally my AVR message has changed, was tired of hearing the old one! So now for things to roll along a little more, hopefully they get to my IV docs soon and NO RFE!

It depends which 3 years you sent to NVC. If you sent 2008, 2009, and 2010, then you're absolutely fine. But if you're like me, and sent 2007, 2008, and 2009, you're required to bring 2010 tax information with you to the interview as the deadline for 2010 taxes is April 18 and since our interviews are after that date, we need to bring it with us. My husband filed his 2010 taxes back at the beginning of March, and I made a photocopy of his 1040EZ along with all his W2s and that's what I'm bringing to the interview.

My Wife has just emailed me the pdf's of her 2010 tax paperwork! I'll print them out tomorrow and stick them with the rest of my paperwork for the Embassy.

All I need to add to the paperwork is more photo's of us together. Photo's we have not already submitted.

I doubt they'll ask for more evidence, but it is there if needed. :)

I am about ready to smack the person that refuses to reply to my OPTIN request.

Im sitting here waiting with all documentation complete.

Its almost at the point I would rather have sent it over standard mail and risked losing my originals.

It took 16 days to accept my optin, so you might have to wait a bit longer.

Great! They're going to ask for the 2010 tax info, so make sure you have it handy at the interview.

Montreal rarely asks for evidence either, but I'm bringing some just in case. I'd rather have it and not be asked for it than not have it and then be asked for it.

Just keep calling an operator each day to ask for your case number. You don't need to wait for your number to appear on the AVR before giving your email addresses. And I definitely wouldn't suggest waiting, because some cases never get put onto the AVR, and if you're one of those unlucky ones, you'd be waiting a really long time.

got through and was told by a nice lady that our case just got there and to call back in 4-6 weeks and from what i gather... that's "call back tomorrow" in VJers speak.

They told me that, and I replied with, "Do you suppose I might get it any sooner? I'm going to be doing the Electronic Processing and all I need to get started is that case number" and she was very nice and said "Try calling back on Friday (4 days later)". Sure enough.. I called on Friday and everything was there and ready to go. Don't know if my sweet southern voice got anyone to get moving on it, or whether she was just being a tad more realistic than the script, but hey... that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :) Hope it comes super fast for you!

I've bought one of those concertina files to shove all my papers in, and it even has a plastic handle so it's easier to carry!

Wary of the 'no metal' rule, I'll have a plastic carrier bag in my back pocket to transfer all the papers in case they object to the storage I'm using. It's all plastic from what I can see, but you never know.

I'd rather be over prepared then have to re-schedule for any minor/silly reason.:dance:

I'm glad you understand VJ speak ;)

Personal story: I called on a Monday to see if my case number had been assigned yet. The operator told me to wait till the next week to call back again. I, of course, did not listen and called back the next day. And guess what? My case number was assigned on the Tuesday.

So, don't listen to the timeframes operators give you. Just call back tomorrow yes.gif

My folder is something similar to what you have.

And don't worry about there being some metal in your folder. It goes through a scanner and they'll see it's just part of the folder and not like knives or something.

I think they make notes on your account. One lady asked me to hold while she typed a note about it.

Kinda made me scared that they would mark the constant naggers and start to delay you just for fun!

that's why i made sure i was extra courteous. juuuuuust in case. at least if they did take notes they can say calls too much but isn't an a-hole :yes:

, i cant believe these reps at the NVC, its like every time i call i get a different answer. was told by one that i didn't need to send the OPTIN email, another one told me i had not sent it at all and the next day i get an acceptance response. I wander what virus is in thier system mutates the information every time i call or they are just so desperate to get you off the line they will say anything.

Today it is with the AOS and IV docs, i called and they say no docs in the system yet. My hubby calls and they say all docs received andin review. God please get me out of here fast!

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Little rant :ranting:
