Wendy, good to know they started scheduling interviews this week. Our case was approved on April 1st, so hopefully we will also get a date this week. I have been calling them in the evenings, giving enough time for them to work during the day!

Good luck Disha!

I've heard nothing yet either. Our case was 'complete' on the 30th March, and their automated voice system still says 'complete'. I'll be ringing up the NVC on Friday to speak to a human if we've not heard anything by then. :)

I talked to a really nice woman at NVC on thursday or friday night, and she told me to expect my interview date this week and told me to call back if I don't get the email by friday. btw my case complete was april 1st as well. I don't know about you guys but I can't turn off my computer or even leave it alone for very long and everytime I hear a "bing" of a new email I run straight for it with my heart beating like crazy.

:lol: I am with you on that!!! But based on the information posted by others in this forum, I think we will know the interview date first (by calling NVC), before we actually get an email. I think the email comes from the local embassy after the package reaches them. So, that would be a few days after the interview date is scheduled. But I could be wrong about that. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

When you say you got an email saying they had received your optin, do you mean it was the auto response? Or was it the acceptance email?

You won't get a reply on your AOS package. The only thing you get is an auto response.

And don't expect the AVR to change for another 2 weeks or so.

The only response I got from them as the "your request has been received and will be processed in about 10 days" This was the second time we attempted to optin. The first one a few days earlier from my wife was unanswered.

When I mailed in my AOS package I didn't even get an auto-reply.

I decided to call last night and found out that even though it says 10 days, the official number to them is 15 or 20 business days.

I'm exACTLY in the same spot (except I did get my OPTIN confirmation as well). I think we're ok :)

How long did it take from OPTIN auto reply to confirmation for you?

Ok, so my OPTIN e-mail still hasnt been read, but I already got this response on my attempt to send documents. Guess I need to wait!

Check my signature... I'm trying to put everything in it to help others with what to expect wtih replies. I got my optin confirmation about 4 days later but saylin's was much longer i believe. I sent my AOS package on Saturday, and received no auto-confirmation. Sent it again twice yesterday... no confirmation. Then last night, i received a confirmation that they received my AOS (the first one!). It wasn't an auto-reply, it was a confirmation email, so don't fret that you never got the auto-reply. I have no explanation but getting that email last night (2 1/2 days later) eases my concern.

Hope some of this helps a little bit.

4 days for them to put OPTIN request on file is damn good.

They say it takes 15-20 days on phone now.

That so true, your OPTIN response was remarkably fast. Mine came like 13 days after i sent it.

Please remember that interviews can be scheduled ALL month, not just the second week as the operators say. If you want proof, look at my own signature. I was scheduled during the FOURTH week.

If you're consistent with calling NVC or DOS, then yes, you can definitely find out first through an operator. The email does NOT come from the embassy or consulate; NVC emails it out. But there is a delay as the email isn't immediately sent out when a date has been assigned. I found out my interview date on a Friday afternoon. I only got the interview package emailed to me at 6am on Saturday.

4 days for them to put OPTIN request on file is damn good.

They say it takes 15-20 days on phone now.

Yes, 4 days is extremely fast. Mine took 16 days. Most cases I see it takes 2-3 weeks. If it gets accepted faster, great, you're one of the few lucky ones.

starting to think Magic Jack is giving me a fake busy signal.

Ah, there is your problem. I too was getting a fast busy signal whenever I tried from my Magic Jack phone. I got suspicious after a day and tried from my cell phone, and bingo, I got connected in one try. I have tested several times since then, and I have never been able to connect with MJ, but works instantly from other phones. So, NVC does not like Magic Jack, may be because the number is blocked when using MJ.
