Hello VJ Friends

I just had my interview and it was really a great experience at the Cairo embassy, everyone was nice and kind, after the interview the Consular said that everything is good but they have to do Administrative Processing which i understand is normal for people from the middle east but they did not keep my passport but yet they kept the passport of another guy who had his interview the same day with me, My question is why didn't they keep mine, does that have any implications.

Here is the interview Review if you would like to take a look http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302943-approved/

Any information will be so much appreciated

one visual I've learned here, from reading stuff at VJ from other members -

USUALLY -

--if the passport is kept, AP is short, 1 to 10 weeks

--if the passport is returned to you on interview day, expect a LONG AP process, 2 to 6 months.

I've no other insight on what to tell you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi Sam, when Wael had his visa interview the CO didn't keep his passport. Sometimes Cairo does this. Just wanted

to tell you that during his time in AP he had a homevisit from the embassy. I don't know if Cairo is still doing them, but

sometimes they do. The CO also told him he was approved and should be receiving his visa in 3 wks. When they

were ready to issue his visa he was notified to send his passport. Total time from the visa interview to visa was 5 months.

You just have to have patience. Best of luck and I do hope it won't take long!
