No we can't. Farming like that went out 100 years ago. It cannot feed the world. You want to trade your environmental values with famine on a world scale.

It's not our job to feed the world. We can feed ourselves, however.

I really don't care where you move to. We will not stop using chemicals in our farming despite what you want.

I'm not going anywhere, buddy. You can move to China if you want toxic, genetically modified ####### you call food.

We couldn't even feed our country with those antiquated practices. However, rich people would still eat. I guess that is what is important to you. It is obvious that you don't give a damn about the rest of the world so why care about the common people here?

I am happy with the food I get here. Your the one that doesn't like it.

As long as it lasts as long as I do then all is good.

Says the guy who just accused me of not caring about other people.

At least my attitude keeps the poor people fed. Yours just keeps you fed.

Even the poorest people spend only 16% of their income on food.

It's pretty low by any historical measure.

16% of what? If you have very little then 16% is a lot. You sit in your ivory tower and just don't understand what it is like to try and make ends meet. Typical rich boy attitude. Let them eat cake.

16% of what?

Of their total spending.

If they make $1,000 per month, spend $900 and save $100 (which almost never happens - most Americans don't save), then 16% of $900 is $144.

And how do you think they only spend 16%? Because of modern farming methods. If we went to organic farming they would be spending double that. For people that are having a hard time making ends meet that would mean making choices between food, clothing or medicine. You don't know what it is like to be poor. It is obvious you just don't care.

More likely, choices between buying groceries and going to McDonalds, or drinking tap water vs buying soda.
