I believe in organic farming which relies on biological diversity in

the field to naturally reduce habitat for pests.

My dinner doesn't have any pesticides, GMOs, petroleum- or sewage

sludge-based fertilizers in it. Natural fertilizers (manure, compost)

work perfectly fine.

Good for you, lets see if that can feed the entire nation and a good chunk of the world. Your yuppie attitude does not take into account that the rest of us are not rich.

I wasn't aware that your 'observations' could not be called out as ####### but it's good to know that if you say that something is strange, then strange it is, and that's a fact.

I never said you couldn't, I just said it was unnecessary.

And if I say something is strange, that's just my opinion. I'm not so conceited as to believe my every opinion to be fact.

"Cheap" food is produced at a high cost to the environment, animals and humans.

Food *should* be expensive.

Says the rich man. Who cares what you think? I don't. I want to be able to feed my family. If that means better farming through chemistry then so be it. I suggest you tell that to someone struggling to feed his kids. I am sure he would appreciate your environmental values.

And the American public need to get accustomed to paying a "fair" price for their food, that accounts for the environmental protection and the elimination of the illegal alien workforce that keeps the price of food artificially low.

Therein lies the problem. If America wasn't so in love with "cheap", Wal-Mart wouldn't be so huge.

There's no such thing as cheap food. It'll cost you in medical bills and lost wages when you get sick.

BS. That isn't true at all. I have been eating *cheap* food all my life and I am very healthy. You just don't care about those that have less than you. It is the rich boy attitude. You got yours so to hell with everyone else.

Just some stats:

Food expenditures as percentage of total spending

Poorest 20%: 16.6% of total spending

Middle 20%: 14.5%

Richest 20%: 11.5%

The average American household spends 7.7% of their budget on food at home, 5.6% eating out, and 1.1% on alcoholic beverages.

Even 16.6% is a pretty low figure for something as important as food.

Good for you. In a sample of 1, we have a 100 percent success rate.

What does that have to do with anything? You spending 16% of your money doesn't mean much. It does to me. Who are you to tell me I should spend more? I want the cheapest food I can get. Most of the rest of us do as well. If you can afford to shop at Whole Foods, good for you. Do it and leave the rest of us alone. I will continue to shop at Aldes and Walmart.

I will not because your cheap food is ruining the environment for ALL of us.

To bad. Move somewhere where they don't use chemicals then. We cannot feed our people and the rest of the world without chemicals. It will not stop despite your high and mighty attitude. I don't want it to stop. I want cheap food.
