Be persistant. I know how hard that this is for you. Maybe try your Senator's office in few days. Contact your congressman too if you have not done so. It took me 1.5 months to get the exact details of our refusal. I will pray for you two. My husband took our refusal hard too. Take care.

I called at 1130, and the woman said they already have emails about our case, and they will answer them. That was all she would say. I bugged my senators again today to call, but one of them said there is a procedure to follow, and they have direct contact with the consulate general. IDK if they will even reconsider their decision, but will do what I can, while it is still there....

The other thing we did - in addition to repetitive calling, emailing, and politician intervention - was that I wrote a letter to the Chief CO, outlining the case and the errors I felt they made (in a respectful, polite, professional, non confrontational manner). I addressed it to the Chief CO. I had my husband send it via the Moroccan version of fed ex or priority mail or whatever. Don't know if that helped or made any difference but something worked. I wish I knew exactly what it was so I could tell you. But, I think it all helps.

Oh Tany, this is totally crappy for you. Definitely do what Mrs. Amera always says-- file the FOIA to get the notes and try to discover the real reason it was denied. I can only think of two other 2xs denials and they were not out of Casa... and had interesting circumstances... one was known and one was unknown. So it's better to get the information. I know people do say yeah, try to keep the petition there. There is that 221g thread which should be helpful. Would have been nicer if they would have outright said why. Using your money as an excuse is lame because you met the guidelines.

Actually it is a wast of time to file for a FOIA. We did it when we got denied and their response is that they are not allowed to give reasons for denials.

Tany, well I am truly sorry to hear this. You are on the right track, so there isn't much advice I can give you right now. If they had asked my husband how I met my ex he would not have known what to answer either. Who gives a flying you know what how you met your ex anyway!

Although it doesn't seem fair, they can deny it because they just don't believe it's real, without much more to go on. If you can get the senator to act before it is sent back to the USCIS then there is always a chance you can fight it in Casa. But one way or the other you will get a chance to fight it back at the USCIS. When your husband gets his head back on straight have him write every single question they asked, as well as his response. It might not show anything, but sometimes the slightest thing that seem immaterial at first might spark that doubt in them. This can help you to prepare your rebuttal. But even if it doesn't show anything you can still get it reaffirmed. Hang in there, it will come together. I fully understand how discouraging it is that you have to wait yet again, but remember, this is the CR1, and they can't just blow it off like they can a K1.
