I see your local office is "California".

In california, after you get married, you need to wait a few weeks for Sacramento to enter the information from your original marriage certificate into the system. Once it is entered you can go to the county offices and request a "Certified Copy" which in printed on official State of California paper.

Certified Copy of Marriage certificate means that your marriage certificate was registered/recorded with the state (in your situation Indiana)

That should be it!

Hi there,

You should be able to have the county clerk send you a certified copy (probably a few dollars - mine in Ohio was $1.00) from Indiana County Clerk's Office.

http://www.indy.gov/eGov/County/Clerk/Pages/home.aspx

Call the number in the link and they should be able to tell you how to obtain it. It'll be easy. You just write a letter with the details you need and a check for the cost of certificate, and they send it to you in a few days.

Don't worry. Its easy, just make sure to call the number in the link to ask them where you have to send the request....
