tablet computer? I like all the stuff from Fujitsu - have you seen any of their gear?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I have seen it featured on a couple of sites. Like Darnell's Fujitsu rec, I take user comments seriously, but I need a few.

At this point I may end up going the netbook route since it places function a bit closer to a laptop. It doesn't do much to quell my desire for something to write on like an iPad but with better utilization at work, etc.

Have you looked at the Macbook Air? It's a super slim and light laptop, ssd etc. They come in 11" and 13" models and they are pricey, but if you see when in person I will almost guarantee that you will lust over it. Macs have the best trackpad in the business and you can also dual boot and run Windows alongside of OSX, or run Windows in a virtual machine. Check it out.

 Thanks. I have lusted after most Mac products while inside Mac Stores... but the point is to have a backup system that extends my existing laptop and not have to toggle between two platforms. But boy they sure are sexy.

You can install Windows on the Mac and have the best of both worlds. The 11" would be the ultimate netbook. And most expensive.

Are you sure you want to waste money on a "netbook"? Netbooks are nothing more than small, underpowered laptops.

iPad as a tablet computer?

oh my - my 'age' is showing, I never use that nomenclature for an iPad.

I still view the iPad as an 'internet appliance' albeit with a touch screen.

The Fujitsu Tablet PC line is a fully functional line o PCs, (most not have any optical drive) but if you are seeking something iPad-ish, then I not have any further input - my 'requirements' usually include a compiler that MUST run, compile, on 'that' machine. iPad with 'that' OS won't run my compiler, so I never think of it as a 'tablet computer'.

But hey, I'm a cranky curmudgeon, my scope on gear usually different than the average consumer.

Fujitsu are a great company. Unfortunately for you Darnell, they are a Japanese company. In light of your cheering of the destruction of Japan, I would think a conscientious person like yourself wouldn't shop them? I guess your bigotry has boundaries.
