No prior marriages

I'm sending off a petition for my stepdaughter. There weren't any prior marriages between her father and I. She was born out of wedlock but name is on birth certificate since birth. What should I send in as to show that there weren't any prior marriages? And do I also need to prove a relationship with her father?

Thanks for your help.

If there were any prior marriages then no evidence need to be submitted simply put N/A on the question box, and they will for sure request a DNA test since the child was born out of wedlock, and as for evidence between them. You can submit the birth certificate, pictures together, schools records showing him listed has her father, doctors records showing him has the father, anything other evidence that prove he's been part of her life, etc...

Hi KK :)

Wouldn't the embassy have the records of his Non-impediment form from your K1??

Visa Journey 101 - Treat each filing as it's own.

I thought about that. 1. We didn't keep a copy of it. :bonk: and two...His paper work was actually sent back with him. It's the infamous envelope that get with their passport and is need to enter US.

The instruction are very vague on what you should do. For now, I will planning to put a letter stating that we both were never married.

hi.so you are the mother and the petitioner? Just send her birth certificate that prove/show your relationship with your daughter.
