Hi everyone on visa journey! It has been a long five years to get here! Just when i thought it is over, this happens! Anyway had my citizenship interview yesterday at the seattle office. The IO asked me if i was nervous and i said a little and thats when he started asking me what do i have to be nervous about? Duh! this is the most important day of my visa journey! Anyway he swore me in then asked me questions on my application. For some reason he dwelled more on my marriage, whether we lived to together, asked me for proof. I had bank statements, my kids bithcertificates, lease , will, some letters addressed to both of us, car insurance and he said one of the bank statements was incomplete. Anyway he handed me a note saying i had passed the civic questions but then one box was checked "a decision cannot be made i will receive a written descison in the mail" What does that even mean? Does anyone have a similar experience? Does that mean am denied? Thank you all for your responses?

We had a similar experience at our AOS interview. We were given a paper that said they couldn't make a decision at that time. Turns out, the person doing the interview needed to get their supervisor's final approval before signing off, and the supervisor just happened to be out of the office (at lunch or something) while we were there.

My greencard showed up in the mail shortly after.

No need to be nervous.. it's so much easier than all the other interviews. You were not denied.. But seemed to be passed on to a Supervisor for a case review and final decision. I suppose the officer was not able to be convinced.

Here's to a positive thinking, feedback and result. good.gif

First, congratulations for passing the test. :star:

Now, about the decision, I've seen this happening in some cases here in VJ and it just happened to my friend too. Keep the faith, I hope you get your Oath letter soon.

I'm about to apply for my Naturalization too and I know I have problems with fingerprints (they can't be processed), so I'm prepared. lol

had my interview March 4th was told decision cannot be made . i asked and was told a tale about how my original file was lost bla bla bla. so I would need a supervisor approval and to expect it in 2 to 3 weeks. called uscis on friday and was tald to wait 120 days. Needless to say just thinking about it is depressing.

With my 21 year old applying for the five year stepdaughter, she had to respond with court cases showing the outcome of battery charges against her when she was 17 months old living in Venezuela.

Were these "bithcertificates" of children for your present marriage? If so, positive proof you are married.

If I were to speculate, would swear your IO and my stepdaughters IO is smoking crack. But anyway, my senators office straightened that out in a big hurry. Was extremely stressful though. Will never find the true answer as to why a decision could not be made at this time.
