A friend of mine entered the US on a visa not marriaged based, he then married and has started to adjust status...His receipt number for work auth. and for the i-485 have an MSC receipt number, as he lives in chicago...but why when he checks on processing times for MSC there is no listing for the i-485...any help would be great

He has an MSC number, not because he lives in Chicago, MSC stands for "Missouri Service Center", but because everyone who applies for AOS through marriage now files through Chicago Lockbox and gets an MSC number.

Where he wants to look is on the page for the processing times for the Chicago District Office:

You're welcome. I'd advise him to not get too downhearted at the processing time on that page, when I filed (June 2006) my DO said they were processing August 2005 cases, but I already have my interview in October.
