Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if I belong to April or May filers 2011 thread. My understanding is that I'm an April filer. Here's a rundown of what happened.

04/15/2011 Package sent

04/18/2011 Package received (Phoenix Lockbox)

04/29/2011 Package was returned to me along with a rejection notice. The check wasn't written properly

05/04/2011 Resent package

05/06/2011 NOA

05/14/2011 FP appointment for 05/27/2011

05/16/2011 FP walk-in (@8am on Pico. Wasn't an issue at all).

If I don't belong to this group, do tell but by all means be nice with me. My posting is solely motivated by desire to share my experience.

Your choice. But, your timeline would probably fit better with May, since that is when you sent in your application and it was accepted.

Wish I was going through a California office other than Santa Ana. They couldn't even get my fingerprints scheduled until June 8th (7 weeks after sending N-400 application) so goodness only knows how long we will have to wait for interview... Was hoping to be done before I go back to Europe for the first time in September after 7 years for a family wedding. Doubt that's going to happen on this timeline! poopa...

3 September 2004 INTERVIEW IN LONDON SUCCESSFUL VISA APPROVED! MARRIED OCTOBER 16, 2004

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS - 5 MONTHS

4 January 2005 - Submitted applications for AOS and EAD - 12 May 2005 Conditional Permanent Residency Approved - interview in Santa Ana

4 June 2005 CPR 2-year Green Card arrives in mail

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS - 3½ MONTHS

8 May 2007 - I-751 sent to CSC - 23 August 2007 - Approved - Card production ordered

I guess most CA local offices have things moving slowly (but yeah, I guess better than some in NY & DC). My case has been in-line for interview scheduling for 4 days now and there is no update yet. I noticed on this forum that most cases get updated from this status within 1-2 days.

You can try a walk-in, I did in the local office at San Jose. Initially the security officer tried to reason that it was not a good time for walk-in and said the wait may be well over 2hrs. I noticed that the office was allmost empty so I said I will not mind waiting. He then let me in and I walked out of the office 10min later after completing the FPs.

Hi guys,

I applied for N-400 on April, 11 in Texas Center. My case was put in line for interview scheduling on May, 9 and I am still waiting for scheduling. No any updates on my uscis account. Today is 10 day and I am still in line for scheduling? Does somebody have the same problem? Do you know how long it is usually takes? Should I call them ?

I applied almost a month ago and still did not receive any FP notice. the status online state :

Initial Review

On April 25, 2011, we received this N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I called the USCIS and i told them how long it takes to receive the notice for FP, they said it takes up to 30 days from Notice date.

Hopefully i will receive it next week. They said if i don't receive it by May 25th i need to call them. Does it usually takes that long? did anyone have the same issue before?

My wife and I applied for N-400 together and we did the finger prints together on May12. Both our cases were moved to "placed in line for interview" on May 16. However, there was an update on my wife's case yesterday (May 20) that her interview has been scheduled while there is no such update on my case. Is this normal or does this indicate any trouble on my case. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
