You can reschedule as Davod-and-Mae said. However, if you do the oath before your trip, remember that you will be a US citizen and can only exit/enter the US with a US passport. You can go to a passport processing center and get the passport done on the same day. You need to show you had travel plans....

Letter has been mailed with Oath ceremony date. What's the betting that I get a date when I'm away in Europe for the first time in 7 years! Anyway -nice to feel that the end is in sight. Will probably need to reschedule anyway; if it's not when I'm in Europe I would love for me and my son to finish our journey together - his letter apparently hasn't been sent yet!

wow that was quick. Got my oath ceremony letter today in the mail for September 28. WIll have to reschedule anyway because I won't be able to get time off in September as have used all my time-off for visiting Europe. Works out anyway because I'll request the same date as my son - which will likely be in October anyway when I will have accrued more time off. Surprised to get it so quickly though.

I KNOW! YAY! :dance::dance::dance: The butterflies in my tummy are killing me! Everything is set... got the hotel reservation so we can be closer to the court house. It's a 7-hr drive for us round trip so we'll be driving up there the day before. Will kind of look around and find the place so we'll know where to go in the morning. This is really special and we don't want to screw things up by getting lost and late for the ceremony :)

Excited for you. Have a nice relaxing evening tonight. I did the same thing took a hotel near the courthouse as well, just for peace of mind. Have fun tomorrow, can't wait to hear all is done tomorrow.

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

Got here in KC just fine. Our hotel is 3 blocks away from the courthouse. We actually drove by it and studied everything from the parking areas to where we need to come in. I CAN'T WAIT! We'll keep everyone posted :) Thanks for the well-wishers!
