I am now a citizen. Its the end of visajourney for me. This forum was great tool to know how things are going with fellow April filers and find some comfort in times of anxiety. Thanks you all!

I filled out a voter registration form at the oath ceremony. Does this mean I do not need to register my new status with DMV anymore? SSN is the other thing we need to take care of, anything else?

I filled out a voter registration form at the oath ceremony. Does this mean I do not need to register my new status with DMV anymore? SSN is the other thing we need to take care of, anything else?

Voter registration just goes to the county registrar. You still need to go to the DMV. Bring your original Naturalization Certificate to both places. They need to make the copies themselves. If you are working, then change your status with your employer as well.

Great news to start the week. My son's citizenship interview was approved and he received the email today to say he is now in line to be scheduled for oath ceremony. Only took them 28 days to review following the interview which is far less than I thought it would be. Look forward to finishing our journey together at oath ceremony before the end of the year.

Off to Scotland for the first time since we have lived here (7 years) in a couple of weeks for his best friend's wedding. Very happy and excited.

17 February 2004 Sent I-129F petition CSC - It was APPROVED in 147 days

3 September 2004 INTERVIEW IN LONDON SUCCESSFUL VISA APPROVED! MARRIED OCTOBER 16, 2004

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS - 5 MONTHS

4 January 2005 - Submitted applications for AOS and EAD - 12 May 2005 Conditional Permanent Residency Approved - interview in Santa Ana

4 June 2005 CPR 2-year Green Card arrives in mail

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS - 3½ MONTHS

8 May 2007 - I-751 sent to CSC - 23 August 2007 - Approved - Card production ordered

Letter has been mailed with Oath ceremony date. What's the betting that I get a date when I'm away in Europe for the first time in 7 years! Anyway -nice to feel that the end is in sight. Will probably need to reschedule anyway; if it's not when I'm in Europe I would love for me and my son to finish our journey together - his letter apparently hasn't been sent yet!
