One more thing, what do they do with the old (his case UK) passports? Are they just using them to check or are they going to mark them? UK and US are able to do dual and I have heard of people using both (enter UK, use uk, enter US, use US)... He is currently renewing his old (and lost!) passport and hopefully will get it just before his interview.

so, my husband got his interview appt letter with a huge list of things to bring, most are things that he already filed. Does he Really need to bring everything? Most of the originals were sent with the packets probably in duplicate. I do have all the packet copies (ummm some I may have to dig for). Do you think just bringing those would work? Along with Birth Certificate originals of course. Also, my husband lost his old passport so he has no record of proof that he never left the country except for our word. Will it help if he brings my old passports?

Wait...did you say most of the originals were sent?? You're supposed to send in copies only! You save the originals and bring those in with your interview.

Did he lose his old passport after you filed? You should be able to obtain records from the airlines you flew with or at least have the itinerary reprinted. Any email confirmation of flights out of the country? You can probably work with those. They will ask to confirm the dates you left the country. They might not ask for evidence but if they do at least show them whatever evidence you do have. Assuming you traveled together they might accept that but its better to have something showing his name. Thats really to establish the continuing residency requirement. I'm not sure how they would handle that if they didn't believe he was gone past maximum.

Good luck.

I think for the interview they want your GC and a state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID (but I think you should still take your passport.

And Leafgal, what is your yellow letter requesting? Mine is requesting state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID.

Sorry Lisa and Phil somehow I missed this lol. My letter is requesing everything I have already filed lol. State issued DL, Income tax transcripts or taxes for the last 3 years, proof of residence (utility bills, mortgage payments) and proof of termination of any prior marriages (second marriage for both of us). So I will bring it all with me. Oh and it also says to bring the letter as well.

Yes, this thread goes fast. lol

Yes it says on my letter to bring the letter too. But only thing they requested was state ID or DL. But of course I will bring everything anyways. Just in case. Better safe than sorry. :star:

I just checked and my status is the same, initial review and date April 25 when they sent me biometrics appointment letter.

Believe it or not, I brought every originals (and copies) with me when I had my interview 2 days ago. It was a thick folder of documents, but the IO didn't ask for anything. I assumed it's because whatever I have with me that day were the same thing that she had on my file.

I hope so :-). Did they ever asked to send a copy of driver license? I don't remember reading this on the application requirement list.

I told you you would get this letter! as Mae said, yes it means they are working on your case.

Leafgal already got an email saying she's getting her interview letter in mail. So, maybe our cases, that are similar, will follow the same steps. :star:

Did they ask you to send a copy of your DL or to bring it to your interview?

My letter requests me to bring state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID to the interview. If yours is like this so you just have to bring it (and original of all documents previously submitted of course (if your case is based on 3 years marriage to a USC, bring as much evidence as possible to avoid delays).

I am just gonna bring what they ask for(state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID) and that's it. it doesn't make any sense bring something they did not request.

Yes but what if they want to see the original of some of the submitted documents? Your spouse's birth certificate or passport for example? I think when we receive our interview appointment letter we will get more requests. I would not be happy after all the time waiting going to the interview and he/she saying: can I see the original <document> and I not having it. I think it's too risky and it doesn't cost anything to us to bring evidence. If they don't want to see anything, no problem. I think it's better safe than sorry.
