When did you call them? Maybe you are about to receive a letter like I did. Did you apply on 3 or 5 years rule? If 3, have your spouse to call on your behalf (you must be present and give them authorization to speak to your spouse). So he/she can explain to them what point you are at, tell them you had fp taken and would like to know if something went wrong and if there's something you could do. They probably will research your case and you could get something by mail. But first, if you called them just some days ago, I would wait a little bit more because your case could be moving but not being updated. Hope you hear something new and get your interview letter soon. :)

I called them last week and they told me that it may take up to 5 months. so I am just waiting still

Good Luck my friend, you will hear something soon. Did you try to find people in your area applying for N-400 try to check the previous processing time and current. Probably they are a lot of people applying this summer.

So I'm sure you will get something soon. Plus your status says you are in line for interview, right? Maybe it takes a while because they are busy. In my case I got the yellow letter but my status keeps saying the same, nothing changed. Let's pray and hope our cases finally go on. Not so good being stuck, eh?

Well I called USCIS again today and they say it has not been 5 months which is what they are saying they process the cases in that timeframe. They did say it is at the local office. Strange thing was they said the applications being processed there are Dec 1 and online it says something different so that is strange. In any event I will keep waiting till I get an interview.

Quick question for others, has anyone used their passport for ID at the interview if it is expired? I ask since my passport expires next month. I do have a drivers license so I am sure it will be fine, just a drag. No a real drag since I need to go back to Canada in August so I will have to do an emergency passport when I am there since I doubt I will have had my interview, oath and enough time to do a US passport before then.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

I dont mind waiting, but it just make you wonder sometimes. yes my status says in line for scheduling. after reading all these posts, it seems like the status will never change if you receive letter or not.

Yes, it takes times but it's normal to get worried. I'm sure you will get something soon.

I think for the interview they want your GC and a state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID (but I think you should still take your passport.

And Leafgal, what is your yellow letter requesting? Mine is requesting state-issued driver's license or state-issued ID.

It sounds like the yellow letters are like you are on hold, but they want to let you know you are not forgotten. As far as passports, they want anything that might indicate whether or not you left the county, and for how long, so find all those old passports and bring them with you.
