LOL I think I have you all beat, I married my ex a few hours after I met him for the first time in person. We met online, I went to Japan and married the same day I arrived. Wedding arrangements were made prior to my arrival. My current husband, however, I have been dating since last february and we married in August. I did not meet him online, I met him in Pakistan. We started dating, I returned to the US and went back to Pakistan 10 days later because I just couldn't live without him. We dated six months, then we got married, and I left Pakistan 10 days after we got married. I did not file right away, I filed 6 months after I returned home to establish myself.

I met George W Bush and knew som Colombian officials but it didn't help us, lol. I guess I gave to the wrong party :bonk:

Ambassador, Embassy and Consulate tend to go together much better than President and Consulate or Columbian officials and well, anything. People directly associated with Consular services or otherwise working in Consulates or Embassies, tend to know and speak frequently to those who will make decisions about visas. Presidents and foreigners do not.

what does an invitation to a dinner have to do with pushbark's statement? Just curious. You mention money but my trips to Colombia cost 6k each and I did them every 2 months. Marriage costs money and so does love. It's not the price of the trip, its that you made the sacrifice to do the trip.

I can't go every 2 months.. I don't know about you but I am alotted so much vacation a year..

As far as dinner invitation all I said this is where I discussed options about visa's and I stated the Consulate should not be the problem.....

No offense but I went twice and seen my wife less than 24 hours...but just to see her and to hold her was priceless...hmmmm, a possible commercial haha

I understand completely. At the same time I don't care because Claudia is with me. It's like I tell those who want to "sue" or "protest." The Journey will soon end and you will get what you desired, your loved one here with you. Maybe we need to start a new site, or a topic here, Post VJ...what do I do with him/her now? jaja

I would love to be with my wife every minute.. It's difficult for both of us.. We known each other for 2 years. I make the trip to georgia and spend 10 days (far to short)

And now we miss each other and cry often because we are apart.. I know its the process but I also have confidence once I get thru USCIS it will be much smoother..

I applaud you and if I were of Royality would bow to you....but I am American and unlike Obama I bow to no one, jaja. I am glad you did that and maybe it is right for some who can "swing" it. I did embassy duty in Greece for a year and got to meet George HW, Gorbachev and, my favorite of all, Margaret Thatcher. She was such an amazing woman. All this was while statiioned at the US Embassy in Greece and I am sure had I had an application it would have gone much smoother. But life happens and I am so happy with my life now with my colombiana and our son.

Hang in there brother and no need to cry. Give me a call and we can BS about a ball game or something. It's about pre=occupying your time, not filling it since only she can do that. Send me a PM and I will let you know what I did in the short weeks between visits. I am blessed with an amazing job that pays me accordingly and I get to travel the world. If interested I have some hints.

Actually, I did file for the ex, he was also from Pakistan, but on a student visa in Japan. He is now a US citizen. We were divorced about 2 years after he got his citizenship. As far as USCIS goes with my current husband, the i-130 does ask if you have ever filed for someone else and I did put that I had filed for my ex and he is now a citizen. I requested for an expedite for my current husband, and my i-130 was approved in 1 month and 2 days, no RFE's. I just saved everything and put as much evidence as could that my marriage is truly bonafide. My visa journey with my ex was quite smooth, and it seems that this one is off to a smooth start as well, I pray it continues. I truly think that what it comes down to is reading everything very carefully, making sure everything is in order, making sure you have correctly filled all forms out, filling forms truthfully, and sending as much evidence as you can.

A dinner where you actually met and spoke to the ambassador has a lot to do with it. The ambassador is the only person who can tell the VO at the consulate what to do. No one else, not senators, not state department, not congress, not even the president. The consulates are a law unto themselves and the ambassador is the one who sets the rules to a large extent. As for the trips, not everyone can afford to take multiple multi-thousand dollar trips and even if they can, they don't always get the vacation.

The big boss of Consular services in any country is actually the Consul General but meeting the Ambassador and unnamed "others" as a couple would provide an opportunity for the relationship to be observed and commented on to the appropriate person in authority.

So true,

I have a friend who was petitioned by a man that had petitioned and married two women from two different countries, she was the third. Due to his previous unsuccessful marriages she was grilled at the embassy. Unfortunately he was killed in a motorcycle accident and didn't get to marry her w/in the 90 day window.

She went back to her country. A few years later she met a man (who is now her husband) and that embassy interview/petition went smoothly.

I believe that they will get approved, but heavily scrutinized if a USC gets caught up in that situation.

17DEC2010 - Louie arrived in Manila - returned to Hawaii 04JAN2011

01JAN2011 - got engaged

00FEB2011 - Mailed I-129f to Texas Service Center - Package was lost by USPS

14MAR2011 - Texas Service Centre received package (USPS)

16MAR2011 - Text message & Email notification that application was sent to California Service Center

24MAY2011 - Text message regarding case status - USCIS Website shows petition is approved

24MAY2011 - NOA2 hardcopy received 27MAY2011

26NOV2011 - St Lukes Day 1, Day 2 27NOV2011

13DEC2011 - Embassy Appointment 00/00/2011
