Normaly they catch these things and mail the application back requesting correct payment. I have yet to see someone posting about getting a refund from USCIS.

This may be something to call them about.

regarding my question on k2 payment since i pay 985 for my son who is 5 yrs old..and they already in cash it..can we still get the change coz i check that its only 685 or 635 something is the payment for k2 AOS..

Most likely not. Thanks for the donation; read the instructions better next time (there will be a next time since there will be more forms and payments to send in, in the future).

did you submit your son's application with your application? if not, then the fee for your son would be $985.

in addition, if you filed for your son's aos along with your application, then its just $635.

yes i filed his application together with me..the first payment we send is 1,070 for me and 635 for my son but they return our application,and they indicate there that payment is not correct..so what my husband did sent 985 for my son since he want it to make sure that this time its correct and right after 1 week we recieve biometric appointment..and i really dont think 985 is the payment for 5 yrs old son filling together with 1 parent..

You are correct, should have been accepted you included correct amounts in first place, should have simply printed out USCIS website with fees highlited and sent back to them with $635 fee.

  • For applicants under 14 years of age:

    • Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $635;

    • Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $985.
