Hello everyone!! I'm back :)

Well, my wife just received her CONDITIONAL RESIDENCE CARD not too long ago.. woojooooo so happy. Anyways, here is my question/dilemma...

I'm currently in Afghanistan for my deployment and for my R&R I have chosen to go with my wife (in October) to Couples Sans Souci for our 1 year anniversary =) !!!

However, her Nicaraguan Passport is still in her maiden name. Yet her Residence Card is in her married name, hmm see where I'm going at? Would she have to change her name on the nicaraguan passport (pain in the butt) to her married name to travel? Or will traveling with a marriage certificate alongside her documenting proof of her name change (without actually changing the name on the passport) be ok for traveling? I'm so confused !!

Please help ! Thank you all !

Nope, airline tickets are booked in the passport name. Bring green card passport and copy of marriage certificate. Thats all.

If you want to change the passport name just apply to have it changed at a convenient time for it to be done.

She should be fine by bringing the proper documentation that Inky has suggested.

And just FYI in Nicaragua when you change your maiden name to a married name, they only add the husband's last name to the maiden name, so instead of being "Maria Perez" it will show as "Maria Perez de Lee" (as an example) so even if she changed her passport it wouldn't completely match her green card. If she wanted to do that though I believe (not 100% sure) she can contact the Nicaraguan Consulate in Miami and request the new passport.

Stay safe!
