hey guys , it`s been forever......

I am writing here to get you advices about what kind of visa we should try to get for my sister..

I came to US on a student visa and got married years ago...and became a US Citizen couple years ago.

3 years ago my sister wanted to come to see our new born baby and applied for a tourist visa.but the visa officer told her that since i came here on a visa and got married she may do the same thing and rejected her visa application...

its been 3 years since that happened...so , now she wants to give it another try but, we are kinda curious if they would say the same thing or see in their systems why she was rejected 3 years ago and reject her visa application again...

Does anyone know how long they keep those records in their databases at their embassies...?

any suggestions on that would be highly appreciated...

Thanks in advance everyone

They will likely know about the denial. She should be honest about it

to combat it, she should have strong ties to Turkey, what does she have? Home? children? job?

Good luck

she is a government employee and has been working with them for 8-9 years...she also has been to london, england on a tourist visa and went back to turkey..would that be helpful to get the US visa...? I mean isn`t it obvious that she is NOT trying to immigrate to another country...?

Thanks again in advance for any answers you may have...

Has her situation changed since last time she applied for Visa?

Like she got married or had her own kids that she would be leaving in home country?

Since you said she is govt employee for 8-9 years means she was govt employee when she first time applied for Visa as well – so that has not changed.

Hmmm she has traveled to Europe is not a major decision maker for CO, might help some but not a whole lot.

CO can still say since she is single she would look for a husband here as well….. and your records never get deleted.

It stays on her record forever….. so lying to CO about previous denial would be considered misrepresentation and in return would invite a temp / perm ban.

Part of Turkey is in Europe.

I would reiterate, what has changed?

You mentioned another visa type, do you want to sponsor her to immigrate?

Getting a tourist visa is always a ####### shoot. All it takes is one consular employee with a personal agenda or paranoia. The way you describe your sister, being a long-time employee of the Turkish government and having traveled before, it's a 50/50 chance tomorrow, next week, and next year. All she can do is go for it, in this case perhaps mention that she's like to see her nephew/nice, and hope for the best.

There's really not much more you can do, or wait for.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Her previous denial with be on her records as long as she lives, all she can do is apply again and load herself with evidence of strong ties that prove she will return to Turkey, usually being married with children add little chance of getting approved. If she's single and attractive the odd is stack up against her.

It would be better.

Increase her chance.
