I130 - Approved...Or is it?

My wife and I had our first interview on Feb. 8. It went well according to the officer. On Feb. 11, we received form I-797 which indicated that the I-130 petition had been approved. Then a few weeks later, we received a notice from the local office informing us that we needed to attend an interview and that we should bring all evidence that our marriage is bona fide. I checked our status online and it shows that the status is "Initial Review." Is this typical?

Also, when a stokes interview is required, does the notice actually say "Stokes?" Or does it mention the fact that a second interview is required? The letter I received indicates neither.

Any input would be appreciated.

It does sound like a Stokes. The letter will not say "Stokes" as that name came from the NYC DO.

What did you bring the first time around to prove bonifide marriage?

We took everything that was suggested by our attorney. There were a couple things that we had to produce after....but like I mentioned, the officer who interviewed us said, "I really don't see any problems but can't give you an answer because of a computer isuse."

Do I understand correctly that the approved adjustment in status is going to be helpful when we go to the interview?
