timeline of relationship (part ???)

Hi Everyone!

I'm sure most of you who have been through the process have done your timeline relationship, some of you probably did an awesome job, that's why you're approved! :) . But I'm wondering, besides the facts/details about the progression of our relationship. Towards the end of your timeline, did you plead your case or did you just stick to the facts and not get all lovey dovey about things?

I would think that the CO probably doesn't have the time to care about how being apart has made life miserable for the 2 of us, but I think this is something that they should be aware of. So should I include such details toward the end of our timeline or just stick with the boring facts that they want? Thanks for all of your input! :D

The pleas of love and loneliness are not going to influence them. Show the progression of your relationship and how you have interacted as best you can. Paint the entire picture so they can see the strength of relationship.

Thank you Anh Map for the quick reply.Very good advice by the way! :star:

I also have another issue. The person that introduced us, it's my fiance's distant distant distant aunt, now pretends to not know us. Recently, this distant aunt took a trip to VN, my fiance came over to where she's staying to say 'hi' and to see how she's doing, and she replied, 'who are you?' I thought that was really mean...then her grandson, tried to explain to her, oh, that's Leelee's fiance, and she said Lee who? I thought this woman is really really mean, I've known her and her family for almost 2 decades and she pretends to not know me?

To make the long story short, how in the world am I going to explain the fallout between the person who introduced us and the 2 of us?

In the original k-1 petition, the immigration service place only wrote about a page on how we met and the details of my 1st trip. Now with an updated timeline, I have a chance to explain why things change, I hope the consulate will understand our situation.

I added this to the end of the timeline. I took it from a previous VJ member. But our timeline I doubt was ever read. The most important thing about timeline is that the date and event is true and accurate. Because if for some reason they actually read it and want some proof of a particular event/date/time, you can provide to them that evidence. Ex. engagement ceremony, trips together, photos, etc..

I found a woman I love very much. More importantly I found in her what I’ve been looking for all my life.

She is my life, my love, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. She is always there for me, patiently listening to my problems, shares her opinions and thoughts, and I did the same for her.

Last but not least, the most important thing in marriage is to be love and be loved. I definitely find it with Ha. She is a very loving and passionate woman.

Just in case you're wondering, what did you and your fiance do to make her behave like that? I don't think we did anything wrong, because she basically thinks that since she introduced us, we owe our lives to her...my fiance and I didn't agree...So, she now decides to not know us for this reason. This comes to show, you really don't know people that well, even though you think you do... :o

I was introduced to my fiance through my aunt. She wrote a short 2 paragraph testimony letter which explained our introduction relationship then had it notarized. During the interview, CO only ask who introduce and when/where. After that they jump to the next question. They did not care to take letter. This was not a requirement but I just did it in case they wanted to know who. Explain your introduction and relationship as honest as possible, you should be fine for the interview.

Thanks for the details. This is really helpful! I guess I'm really stressed out because there's so much to prepare before the interview. Wish us luck!

Without her response here, it's difficult to make judgement based on just your "opinion". Assuming the "92" in your nick being your birth year, meaning you're only 19, you have a LOT less life experience than your aunt. She sees and knows something that WILL happen in the future that you have yet to see. When I was at your age, I used to think most of relatives were idiots and morons too.

Wait a few decades later, and you shall see and understand the consequences of your current behavior.

Just remember, life over there in VN is NOT real! Your money will be worth a LOT less once you get back over here. Back to reality, cowboy!

Better off reading the links I PM'd you than going by a PPT that was created for a consulate that would accept one... FYI if you leave the email addy in the post it will cause you to get so much spam...

Sorry everybody, I know this is an old thread, but does anybody know if a timeline of relationship is still required? Or if they may even ask for it these days? I have no idea on how to make one, and I cannot find any examples on VJ. Does anybody have any examples to share? I would highly appreciate it!

It is just a simple document where you list the dates and any important event(s) taken place on those dates. For example:

01 JAN 2014

I met my fiancee on xxxxxx and sent her email. We exchanged emails for the next 999 days...

02 FEB 2014

We exchanged phone numbers blah, blah, blah...

03 MAR 2014

I called my fiancee for the first time. blah blah blah...

so on and so forth. Make sure that you date/sign it ahd have it notarized. Make a couple of copies (for the interview and record keeping). Don't forget to include the following paragraph (or something similar to this) in the timeline, preferrably right above your signature:

I, <name>, hereby swear that the information provided in this Relationship Timeline is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I shall take full legal responsibility under the law for any fraudulent or inaccurate information listed herein.

.

.

signature - date
