Service Request with VSC

Hi Vj family, I was able to finally able to put in a Service Request with the VSC. I've been trying to do this for a while, but I guess I finally spoke to the right person. When I called before the Rep would tell me that they couldn't put in the request because I was still within the normal processing timeframe, and according to the Vermont Service Center website, they were still working on petition for Sept 11th. However, I kept calling them every other day until finally some did what I asked. Now........what is suppose to happen? can somebody please explain, will this move the process faster for or what. I hit the six month mark on Monday the 4th.

P.S, I have the invoice number she gave me.

You are suppose to get a response within a week. Thats what happen with 2 of my service request. The invoice number aparently doesnt do you much good unless you dont hear from the VSC within 31 days, and then you can call and give the agent the invoice number so they tell you the status of your case. That is what happen to me. Unfortunately I got a RFE in a mean time so it did not help me much. But if you do not have RFE you should get a response of your SR within a week, especially if is : approaching regulatory time frame request. hope this helped you.

No RFE yet, should I have gotten one of those by now, or will they wait until it reaches the 6 month period? My last update according to the USCIS website was Oct 14th and the petition was received on Oct 4th. what's your thought on that?

for me, when I first put in my service request, I got a letter in the mail stating I should basically "wait patiently". My congressmen then called (I think that was her 3rd phone call to them), and they said at the end of the sixth month I would be automatically expedited. THe process is just crazy! Anyway, hope you get your NOA2 very soon!

Nooooooooo you don't want an RFE. RFE basically means they want more evidence or you filled something out wrong or missed something.

What you want is your NOA2 if they do go to your file during the service request.

dont rely on service requests. congresspeople seem to work after you hit the 6 month mark. i filed 2 service requests myself and they both got denied, but the minute they heard from a senator i was approved within the day

We but in a service request on 3/15 and got an email from them approving the service request on 3/28...I contacted my representative for where I live and they talked to vermony yesterday afternoon and we were approved this morning...not sure exactly helped or if it was just our time to be approved. If you are over 6 months start contacting any and everyone that could help you out best of luck

Thank you, contacting Congressman on Monday the 4th if I don't get anything. In fact, he told me to call him on the 4th if I don't hear anything anyway because my 6 months is up on Monday.
