Hi everyone.......been a long time since ive been able to post.....but I've been reading up on topics from time to time. I havent been able to find out tho about an issue I am having with changing the address to which the beneficiaries packet 3 should arrive to.

My fiance has had a falling out with an aunt of hers with whom she lived during the time that we were filing her case. It doesnt seem like a good idea to have anything so important as packet 3 mailed to that address anymore. Ive been writing to the embassy in Buenos Aires, where her interview will be, asking them wether or not packet 3 will be mailed through regular Argentina national post service, or through fedex or what.

It would be much easier to be able to just keep the packet 3 at a PO box in my fiances post office. If the package is sent fedex though it will be sent right to the address of her crazy aunt, if I cant get it changed in time.

The goal is to find anyway possible to avoid having the packet 3 reach the address at which the aunt lives.

Ill update my timeline very soon.

I believe the case is still at USCIS.

They sent me an email on 09/01/06 explaining that they have sent an approval notice through regular mail to my house for the IMBRA RFE. So the case is still at USCIS.

Can the USCIS now send the petition back to the embassy again? Or do they first need to send me yet another letter explaining that "it will be forwarded to the proper post".

Your case first goes to the National Visa Center (NVC), NVC will forward to the Embassy.

I suggest you keep in touch with the NVC, and request an address change for the Beneficiary at that level.

I moved. How do I give you my new address?

Write to us at The National Visa Center, 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth NH 03801-2909, or fax it to 603-334-0791. When contacting us please be sure to always include your case number or your CIS receipt number so that we may locate your case.

Source: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1309.html

You can also e-mail them and ask them to update the address. Be sure to mention your NVC case number (for recalled cases, it's the case number they've signed the first time it was sent there).

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Ran into a similar situation last month. Called the hotline and was told that only the petitioner can change address over the phone. They told me to do a simple letter requesting change of address for beneficiary. Ensure the letter shows new address and old address from the 129F. Also include dates of birth and a copy your NOA1.

Got touched shortly after and haven't received anything in the mail so I'm hoping it took and the touch was just them updating beneficiary address...

Definitely recommend calling the hotline to ensure there aren't any changes to info needed. Ya never know, they could have changed requirements in the last month ;)

Their cases's left USCIS - they've gotten an approval; so they can only change addresses at NVC at this point.

My boyfriend should be calling NVC today to update my address. We have no idea if they have the file yet or not... it seemed like the simplest thing to do.

I also sent an email to the consulate, but since I don't have an NVC number, I doubt it will solve anything!

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

09/27/06 - forwarded to consulate

20/11/06 - visa in my pocket!

14/01/07 - POE

13/04/07 - marriage

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

02/17/07 - AP and EAD arrive

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

From what I've read, after you have the NVC number, you can change your address with the consulate. So... you'll figure it out. :)

well, I just got this message from the embassy:

Once we receive your approved petition we will then send you the next package to your new address, until then no action can be taken. In the meantime, if you wish to save sometime you may try to obtain passport if you do not have one, and your long form birth certificate showing parents name.

So I guess depending on the particular consulate, you can contact them and they will keep the info. This is Vancouver, and by all accounts, they are pretty great to deal with. :)

But I think it probably is a safer bet to go through NVC.
