Tanya and I were watching one of the Housewives of (wherever) shows. I asked her what a man who married an older woman for her money was called. It sounded like "Alphonse." I asked her what a woman in the reverse situation would be called. She smiled and said "A woman who found a good husband."

Alphonse can also marry a woman of his age for money, it's not about age.

And the way women are called in that situation depends on personal views and values of people.

A man with a trophy wife is usually called "папик/papik", which is pretty much the same thing as "sugar daddy".

Tanya was just playing with me about "the woman who has found a good husband" thing. It is very interesting to learn about the difference in perceptions between men and women (East and West).

I spent last Saturday at a Russian poetry meeting. Tanya was so happy to hear uninterrupted Russian for a whole evening...

I think my wife would agree with her. If a woman hits the jackpot she's found a good husband no matter how he treats her or what type of man he is. They don't seem to really care as long as he has enough money for her to do whatever she wants to do.

That sounds a lot better than, "you fat nasty greasy not even a man."

That reminds me of my wife not killing me because I didn't have enough life insurance... yet.

Alla has figured out that she would be much better off financially if I was dead.

You guys let your wives know you have life insurance ? seriously that's like one of the first rules in the book.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Well, we do have children and I did have a heart attack and bypass surgery so the subject came up. Not to mention we bought a house together since then. Plus, she is a student and has no ability, currently, to make the money she would need to continue living.

I think it is perfectly reasonable for her to be comfortable that if something happened to me, the things I pay for would continue to be funded and/or paid off.

She doesn't know it, but I had the wife on mine before she touched ground here...."but" when she ask me about getting life insurance, I say; "ya I'm going to get right on it."

Last thing I need is her "fixing my food" so to say. :dead:

We have been very open regarding any financial stuff. The first few months Alla did the bills with me and balanced the checkbook, etc. It was challenging but she wanted to understand how it is done here (she operated on a cash basis there) Once she learned it, sort of, she has shown no further interest in it. I have also kept one of my brothers informed so he knows what to do if I am suddenly not around any more. I am in better health now than before and the Dr says I will live another 25 years at least...but it is a sobering experience. Check with your doctor before engaging in sex with an FSU woman.

They also know how to snap your neck if it is necessary, y'know.

My wife told me she's not going to kill me because I'm worth a lot more alive than dead. "You only have $10,000. Why I must kill you for zis? You gonna work 30 more years, blat. You gonna make for me so much more than $10,000."

Alla once admitted she would not kill me if I had an affair with another woman...she would ill the woman instead. Her reason? "I need you to pay for everything, I do not need her"

I am not interested in testing the theory.
