Thank you so much everyone! All brilliant advice and clearly well-informed! I can't stop smiling right now.

So when calling the DOS, I select the option to talk to an operator. This will be an actual person who then comes on the phone, right? Then I just simply ask that person for the status of my application and whether an interview has been scheduled yet, quoting my LND case number, is that correct? as stated before, I'm really no good on the phone and I panic! haha.

Thanks again everyone, I'm sure there will be more questions to come in the next few weeks.

Yes, you will speak to a real person. And they are usually really nice and helpful. Most that I have spoken too have wished me good luck at the end of the call.

You will be fine. Good luck with the rest of your visa journey.

I think I just kept pushing 0.... but I believe this is some proper order to the numbers (if you listen to the menu... 1 and then something? can't remember..!)

But yes - it is a live person that you will talk to who you will tell that you want to check to see if an interview has been scheduled for your K1 visa, she/he will ask for the case number, tell them, they will tell you to hold on whilst they look it up - and then they can tell you what activity is going on.

Be prepared to wait though... I've waited up to 20 minutes before :-/ But other times I have called, it was answered in less than 5 minutes. If you call and it says that the lines are busy right now, and it disconnects you, just call back in a little bit. I guess that means their queue is full. That happened to me a few times.

If you get to about week 4/5 after sending and you haven't heard anything regarding an interview date, i would suggest calling the embassy extortion line to check your forms were received and logged.

My forms mysteriously vanished, after they we delivered, and if i hadn't called i could of been waiting forever.. :(

It all worked out in the end, but just something to be cautious of.

I have everything ready for my medical next week, but have an important question about that now.

Do I need to ask the doctor for a copy of the DS-3025 so that I can later use it for my AoS application? People who have had their medical at London recently, were you able to get one? If not, what did you do? is there anything else I should ask for that will help me later on?

Thanks

OP's wedding date is August 18th, which will be no problem at all, providing they don't get put into AP

To OP: Sounds like you have a similar timeline to me, apart from the medical.

As Jay said, from about 4 days after your medical start calling DOS 1-202-663-1225 for an interview time.

The Embassy may well have a interview slot ready for you, but won't disclose it untill they have the medical results.

Good luck

You will be given your DS-3025 when you go to pay the receptionist at the end of your medical. The receptionist will explain that you need to keep it safe for the AOS process.

Oh, that simple huh? I was under the impression from other threads read on here that the DS-3025 is part of the sealed package that gets couriered to the embassy and to ensure you ask for a certified copy, which may not be given to you. Seems to be a lot of differing info on this subject. I see you passed your medical just 2 weeks ago though at London, so i'm sure your answer is the most accurate in relation to my case. Thanks.

Did this happen to others who have had a recent medical at Knightsbridge?

My fiance had his medical fairly recently, and he was given the DS-3025 right as he paid for the medical, upon departure. All good to go!

The DS-3025 is only your immunizations. Knightsbridge ALWAYS gives a copy. It even says at the bottom of the form "Give a copy to the applicant." The original DS-3025 along with the other medical examination results go to the embassy and are sealed and sent to you to take to the US. They don't give out copies of anything medical but the Immunization Worksheet DS-3025.

Well, had my medical yesterday and it went incredibly smoothly, I was done in 40 mins. Got the DS-3025 as you guys said, with all immunizations completed other than varicella, but the doctor put vh which I heard was a good thing. I've also called the operator and got my MRV receipt.

So should I now wait until Tuesday, and then start calling the DoS to see if I have an interview date and just keep trying every few days till I have one? Pretty sure I have everything ready for the interview, so would like one asap!

I am little confused about what photo's you have to take to the embassy when you go for the interview. Do I take 3 normal passport photos or do I need 3 of those 2" square ones? I have differeing info on this.

Always the 2" square ones. Word has been that you can get them at "Snappy Snaps"

Personally, I think you'll find the hardest part is if you get your visa in May and then have to wait MonthSSSSSSS until you can leave for the states. I found that wait worse than the wait for NOA2.
