i cant go to the consular interview, will my spouse be denied?

i plead guilty to bribery, accepting bribe which is a felony in my case. since i took the plea i would not be charged with conspiracy bulk money transferring lying to a federal ajent and drug trafficking. with drug trafficking my wife would not be able to immigrate here ever on my behalf

i was supposed to be sentenced this month but since the prosecutor needed more time to investigate they kept asking me for a 30 day extention and i kept givinf it to them knowing it was beneficial for me since i had this pending petition. so now im being senctenced in july. when they decided they were done i got me a paid lawyer wich gave me an extra 30 days, which was worth the 20 k fee. so now she is set up for may and 2 months later i go to sentencing. so im hapy in a way.

For the DR, I have never read about an interview account that ended in approval for a K1 or CR1 where the petitioner did not attend the interview. I would bet that your absence would constitute an almost automatic denial at Santo Domingo. In addition to this, your criminal record may also ultimately cause a denial of your petition...

All I can recommend you now is make sure your wife have lots of evidence and make sure she knows everything about you and your family, and even about this conviction you are going through, and hope for the best. Good luck

The Consulate in the DR rarely approved people without the petitioner at the interview. They probably would approved spouse of military who were deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan and couldn't attend the interview.

Its probably best if you get an immigration lawyer to help you. We can just offer you suggestions but none of us are experts espesically with legal aspects that complicate your case. I hope things work out for you and your family.

When I petitioned my wife I don't remember signing anything. But I was interviewed by the Consular officer to validate the legitimacy of our relationship.
