I've tried searching the forums but the search function does not seem to be working at the moment...

My case has been received by the Vancouver consulate and I'm currently awaiting Packet 3... I just want to get a heads up on what's in it (i.e. forms I have to fill out and what's on the checklist?)

Thanks!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

thanks, that helps a lot.

now a question arises... it lists "long form birth certificate" as a document required for the interview... what do i send in if i wasn't born in canada? i was born in the philippines, moved here when i was 14 and became a canadian citizen when i was 17. do they want here proof of my citizenship or do they just really want my birth certificate? if so, can i bring in my certificate of citizenship (the actual paper document - not the card) or do i bring in my birth certificate from the philippines?

before i contact the consulate, i thought i'd ask here first... (they are currently taking about a week to respond to the e-mails i have sent them)

Definitely check with the Consulate but plan on providing both your Philippines birth certificate with a translation and your Canadian citizenship documents. Make photocopies of them all that you can leave with the Consulate as they will give you back the originals.
