CSC received my I-129F papers on July 21st. (So far no touch). I am planning to go to the Philippines to visit my fiancee over the Holidays. I am leaving here on November 3rd and arriving in the Philippines on November 5th. I am planning to stay there for 6 months. I don't expect my I-129F petition to be approved for quite some time. I would like to know if anyone has ever went over to the Philippines and had their I-129F petition approved while they were over there. If so, will I have to come back to the states for anything prior to her interview? Such as the original approval notice the CSC will send, ( I have a lawyer representing me in California.), or will the CSC send the original over to the Manila Embassy in the Philippines, or will the attorney send it over to the Manila Embassy to start my fiancee's Visa? What will I have to provide her for her interview? The reason I am asking this here instead of asking my attorney is I don't think he is handling my case very well. Thanks for any help anyone can give me concerning this matter.

If you will be in the PI for six months and not working, you will still need to prove your ability to support your Fiance/future Wife, with evidence. This will be done again at the Embassy. Are you using a co-sponsor or do you have sufficient assets to carry this requirement on your own?

Your approval notice NOA-2 (I-797), will be sent to your Attorney or the address on your I-129F package, Whichever you designated to receive the correspondence.

When USCIS approves your petition, it will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC), then NVC will forward to the Embassy.

Then you need to get into the queue for an interview. 3-4 months I have read here.

There are other forms supplied to your Fiance, by the Embassy. If you plan to remain in the PI through the interview and Visa stage, suggest you gather all of the requisite evidence that you can in advance.

Although some items will need fresh dates (Bank Statements and other financial documents, showing ability to meet or exceed the poverty guidelines), so you may need to do some serious FEDEX.

Edited to add: It appears from your timeline (DOB), that you may be retired? JUst be sure to pay attention to the Income requirements.
