Really? I didn't know that? What about her SSN?

I already file my 2010 tax return. If she was included, I'd get some refund.

The W7 form will give her an ITIN number it is a temp SS number where she could use it to claim the tax.

They will process the ITIN and then forward your 1040 application to the IRS.

I also got my tax transcript for 2010 and the previous 2 years.

On the check it has my name and her name.

So you mean the USCIS or NVC will process this ITIN?

BTW, what's tax transcript? Is it different from what you've got when you file your tax? Put it another way, do I have to give 'em the tax transcripts for my wife's interview? Right now I have all copies of the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 but I don't believe they're the transcripts though

I got my Federal tax refund check last night which was file with my wife.

It is very easy..

For those want to know the process..

I sent my 1040 with W-7 form.

Included a marriage certificate and her Passport.

It got approved within 5 weeks.

you had better luck than me. i went to the irs office and i was told that i need my wife's original passport. The passport also can be notarized or official. If not they need 2 other form of id's from her. Along with the W-7 to request an ITIN. My wife got a pink slip last week so they kept her passport. Hopefully she will get her visa tomorrow and will fly here before April 15, if not i will have to ask for an extension.

We are claiming my wife's mother on our taxes because we provide over 50% of her income....We filed the W-7 with the 1040 and included a B&W copy of her mothers mexican passport.

We'll probably get a request in the mail in about a month for more info but I'm hoping our refund just shows up in our account one of these days soon!

India, gun buyback and steamroll.
