Yes, you need to get your 2008 tax return. You can go to the IRS website and request a tax transcript for 2008 for free:

You can obtain a free transcript on the IRS.gov Website (www.irs.gov) by clicking Order a Transcript under the Online Services option, or by calling 800-908-9946 and following the prompts in the recorded message, or by completing and mailing a request for a transcript to the address listed in the instructions.

They can fax the transcript to you the same day or you can have it mailed out to you. You will get it within 10 business days. Good luck and congrats on getting your interview.

I got my transcripts really fast too!

Now I am ready to file my N400...I am eligible starting on friday april 1st. I do have a question : My eligibility starts on april 1st, and I was wondering if I mail them my package on thursday, they will receive it on firday april 1st, which is my first day of eligibility, so I guess this is ok?

And we haven't filed 2010 taxes just yet. So, I am sending the past 3 years taxes official transcripts: 2007, 2008, 2009. I think this is fine, right?

Sweet10, I think it depends on the examiner (or not?). I was eligible to file in January 4th 2011 but I decided to wait until having 2010 taxes done and getting tax transcripts from IRS. I don't know if it makes difference or not but I decided being a little bit more patient just to be safer. So, think, rethink and decide what's better for you. :star:

Now that I gathered the documents I'm ready to send my application. Good luck for us. :luv:
