It's out of hand imo. I worked with a welder from Maine who didn't know the letter "R" existed. I mean ####### is a "caw". Are these people retarded ? I mean they must have English classes back east with the Alphabet. And last time I checked there was a letter "R" in it.

It gets worse though. Iv'e been on the radio up on the slope with hands from East Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana who didn't even speak legible English. I got so p*ssed that when I got back to camp to told them to say the fk off the radio until they learned legible English, otherwise get the fk out of the country for the fact it was obvious they weren't American. That one started WW3 up there. But seriously is it only the Northwest part of the USA that actually knows how to speak English in this country ? I mean ####### I thought we all went to English classes here .

I was brought up multilingual in English and Yorkshire dialect (which is 90% old Norse/Danish)

I have some great words that are not standard English bit are pretty expressive. For instance 'Thoil'

This word replaces the sentence - 'I can afford to buy it but I really think it's priced too high for what it is'.

(eg I can't thoil it)

I like offbeat words that are short and get a whole sentence over. The French have some great ones like cliché and ambiance

But using standard English and doing it badly has no benefit.

Of course all the remedial class wallahs either claim they are dyslexic or that they are forging a new modern language, when their prickliness simply reveals that they failed English at school and still feel resentful about it

The only time they will ever realise their error is if they ever apply for a decent job and tell the interviewer that they they have drug their resume out of the closet and brung it with them

i live in oklahoma & have for over 25 years. in oklahoma we speak audible english & read legible english.

if it'll help you feel better about yourself. you can always imagine ole waylon singing the 'dukes of hazzard' theme song playing while you read my post.
