Hello everyone! I'm a Canadian who recently married an American - much to both of our surprise! I came down south to help my friend renovate his house after his ex left, and over-winter before I moved to Toronto.. and we ended up at the courthouse on March first! We submitted what we hope is all the paperwork for my AoS a week ago today and I just got my email saying that the USCIS has received it - here's hoping ourselves and everyone else a smooth transition! :)

The story so far...

04-20-2011: Biometrics taken (for EAD/AP)

05-12-2011: EAD/AP Approved!

05-18-2011: Received EAD/AP card

07-07-2011: Second Biometrics appt sceduled

Yes, up in the mountains! We're up in Dahlonega. The shift from Victoria (where I can walk from one end of town to the other in an hour) to rural America (where it's a 20min drive to the nearest store - a Walmart) wears on me some days. I'm glad to know there are some other Canadians out here!

Ah yes, I've been to the Dahlonega Walmart...on black Friday even. Now that is an experience you must have

I actually love it up there - we head up north of there to Suches about twice a year.

Good luck
