Does anyone have any success stories from writing to their congressman or senator? I know many many have done this and really it is no help. I'm a few weeks shy of the 5 month mark and know that at this point 6 months is the current processing time, but am just wondering if writing a congressman in a few weeks will do any good.

Thanks all!

I think there are very few stories where the congressional office really did any good; usually the folks writing were within the current processing and it may have been just coincidence. Our good friends had to wait 10 months and no RFEs and now they are together. There never were any guarantees....except that you will wait.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

If you are talking about expediting then it won't help. We and friends of mine however had great results when the petition was hung up because of unusuall RFE's. I called my senators immigration specialist. She's HOT at what she does.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

I sent an e-mail to my Senator and about a week ago he send me a letter, he called Immingrationa and was told that I needed to wait until it hit the 6month mark that for me it will be this Wednsday so I have to wait and sent him a letter again. Is your request in Vermont or California?

We got a lot of help from our congressman but it was 3 years ago. My husband contacted the congressman and the same day we got our NOA2 for fiance visa and then again we had some delays at DOS and again the papers were sent to the ambassy the same day as the call to the congressman. I really don't think it was a coincidence.

I also send a letter to my Congressman and they replied that the USCIS told them that I have to wait after the 6 mth mark before putting in an expedited request based on ONPT ( Outside of Normal Processing Time ) . So next week --i will be following up . I hope that they can make it happen -they told me No guarantee.Keeping my fingers crossed
