Was wondering if anyone can shed some light onto this:

Background:

We received our case number from NVC today. Jubi had TB about Five years ago and was fully and completely treated for it and had an exam from a personal physical exam last month to verify that she is still clear of the TB. Her TB is cured but it does leave scarring on the lungs. We know it will show up on the St Lukes exam when they do her chest x-ray. She plans to bring medical documentation that details her treatment and states that it is cured when she goes for the St Lukes exam.

Here is our question:

If we have her Case number, without the packet even arriving at the embassy yet, can Jubi schedule for an exam at St Lukes using just the Case number we received from NVC. Our feeling is that if we can do the medical exam soonest then if there is a delay on the medical it wont have as much of a impact on our overall time process to get to VISA approval. By Jubi schedule the physical exam now we could save a month vice having to wait for the embassy to direct her to schedule the exam. So VJ members is this permissiable to do and gives us more time or are we forgetting or overlooking a precedure that needs to be followed?

Thanks

Tony and Jubi

Jubi can go in for her medical right away. She can use your NOA2 and your NVC letter that has your MNL case number on it.

Jubi won't need to make an appointment for her medical at St. Lukes. They operate on a first come-first served basis.

I had my medical examination with only the copy of the NVC letter on hand. The guard just looked at it and I was handed a form to fill-up. There are people there who has medical conditions before and they have all their x-ray films and copies of the doctor's diagnosis from the hospital. its better that she bring those things during the interview as she will be asked at every stage of the examinations. She also has to be consistent to her answer. there was a girl there that was already in the immunization stage (meaning it was on the 2nd day already) and when asked if she was confine before the the result of her petition was released she answered "yes" and it was immeidately flagged by the person giving the vaccines because she didnt state it during the first day of her medical examinations. she was asked to go back to the 5th floor (if I remember it right) for another round of interview with the doctor.

To sum it up, all she needs to bring is her NVC letter w/ MNL case number (a 1 photocopy of it),valid passport, her medical records if she has, and her attentiveness in every question that will be thrown at her. hope this helps! Good luck!

cutie bear makes a good point. You can simply use the NVC letter in order to be admitted for the medical.

Also, I have read here on VJ where some people were admitted to St. Lukes for their medical using only their NOA2.

As everyone above has stated, you can go with just the NVC letter and case #. My fiancee recently did this for the same concerns as you have. See our timeline in my signature.

Make sure to make copies of your passport because they will keep it at St. Lukes. You may need the copies for other reasons before you receive the passport back.

Another good point...the beneficiary could use a copy of their passport at the CFO seminar.
