of course, this is after the oath ceremony with naturalization certificate in hand. are they really able to come through with passports in as little as 24-48 hours?even at the steep costs? from reviews on yelp and other search engines,it seems as though some of them have standing emergency slots with the national passport agencies and guarantee the service. Now of course, you can go to the national passport agency yourself(stating your emergency if there is no appt) but the hiccup is that it is not guaranteed... are they in cahoot? cant help but wonder... Have to travel within a week of my interview and of course, claiming oath on the same day(Baltimore).:):).

any thoughts???

If you live close to one of their twelve service centers, can make an appointment and get same day service.

ROUTINE SERVICE

As of ( Monday March 28, 2011 ), we are processing routine applications in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application.

EXPEDITED SERVICE

As of ( Monday March 28, 2011 ), we are processing requests for expedited service in about 2-3 weeks door-to-door, when overnight delivery is requested and paid for both ways (to and from the passport agency).

Did pay an extra $12.00 to send it overnight,, but 60 bucks is too much just to gain a week. As long as they get here in 12 weeks, she will be fine. Wife got hers in eleven days a couple of years ago, was about four years ago, I had to renew mine when some idiot in Washington decided you needed a passport to go to Canada, applied four months ahead of time, but have many calls, they got it to me the day I was scheduled to leave.

Yeah, I seen those hundreds of ads on google, for some reason, don't trust them. But maybe somebody here had a good experience. How can you push either the DOS or the USCIS?

Hi,

this is from my own experience. if you want you can get your passport the same day with the certificate in hand, all you need to do is to present an airline ticket showing that you are traveling within 14 days of the appointment. what i recommend is once you know your Oath date, call and make an appointment at your local passport agency for the next day after your oath day. then book a ticket like for the day after or 2 days later and you will get your passport the same day or next day. usually if you apply for it at 9 am, you will get it at 12 pm. in my case i had my Oath on 3/23 then i made an appointment at the passport agency for 3/24 at 9am and i booked a ticket for 04/01 to Canada to visit my friends. i received the passport on 3/25. so it's def possible to get your passport in 3 HRS but make sure to follow the instructions.

Good luck and i hope that make sense.

Shows the same day regional services centers. Wonder if it every occurred to them to put these centers at the airport that center is serving. Sure they could find a spot at O'Hare downtown no parking anywhere Chicago is a 70 mile round trip from O'Hare. Anything to make it extra miserable.

No more than 40 miles round trip either by train on via expressway.

Take a train :) no need to park and costs you about 4.50 both ways. Depends if you need to transfer :)

But you are right. They could have a small office at ORD and any other major airports, same like CBP does for any express entry cards interviews and issuance.

We have to travel to downtown Chicago to the Colombian Consulate, seems like they want my wife to have a Colombian passport to visit her mom. Typically takes about 2-3 hours to drive to downtown Chicago from O'Hare during the rush hour, but see you are correct, it's only 18.2 miles one way. Just seems like 70 miles, LOL.

Got wise the last time, drove down to Harvard, IL and we took the train in, makes a 4 1/2 hour trip that way. But for the two of us, 34 bucks for two round trip tickets, but sure saves on wear and tear on but me and my car.

Got mine in Los Angeles in 172 minutes.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
