I went for my interview today for my reaffirmed i130. The consular officer called my name and went i got to the window.he told me that my birth certificate is an old one so i should get a new one and bring it back on april 4th. He gave me a white paper and he marked the 'birth certificat and awaiting results of administrative processing. He didnt interview me at all.the visa fee was not collected. What should i expect on monday next week, why didnt he interview me. Has anyone went through this before.please

It seems they're ok with you..."awaiting result of administrative processing", where applicable, is checked only after the interview. If it was checked without having been interviewed, then I think that's all that is required for your re-affirmed petition. I'm sure your visa will be approved when you go there next week with the new birth certificate. Don't worry; it's highly unlikely for them to re-deny a petition denied and re-affirmed.

Goodluck.

I pray you get an approval next week! (F)

I just looked at your timeline, the consular sent the petition back to USCIS last year? How long did it take for them to reaffirm your petition? What did the writ of mandamus entail? Can it be done without an attorney?? Sorry for all the questions, my friend just got a 221g and I am looking for any info that could help her, thanks :)

It means they want all the applicable documents prior to the actual interview. Your interview will be Monday. Administrative processing is just at generic term they use for anything pending. In your case, the birth certificate and interview are what are pending.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I thank you all for your time! @Mimi,,i got my birth cert since 2007 so i think yours will still be valid at thetime of your interview.the new birth certificate was introduced last year or 2! @JAprincess,,,it took the consulate 5good months to return my petition to the nvc,a month later after it got to nvc my husband was notified and that was when he filed the writ of mandamus,he couldnt have done thath without the help of his lawyer but i dont really know if one can filed alone.my husband

My husand gathered more than the documents they requested and took it to the court with his attorney. The court approved it and uscis reaffirmed the case and forwarded it to the nvc.nvc has processed our case since the first approval so there was no need for the to do that again.therefore they forwarded it to the ghana consulate it got to the consulate and 30days later i was notified to come pick packet 3.that was in october 2010.so i had my interview on 28march this year! Hope this hel ps.also senators
