I'm US citizen by birth, filling out the I-130 to petition for my wife, living with me here in the US. I'm using this forum plus the book "Fiance & Marriage Visas" by NOLO.

First question is regarding #7 "other names used": She is Jennifer, and has gone by "Jenn" and "Jenna". Her maiden name was (changed for privacy) "Smith Wesson" (two last names). Is it sufficient to just jot all that down as "Jenn Jenna Smith Wesson"? And I am Gregory on the form but sometimes go by Greg. Is it sufficient to just put "Greg"?

There is a discrepancy between the sample form here on VJ and the book, on question C.17, "List husband/wife and all children". The book says not to enter my name as husband here, since I'm already covered in the form. Your sample form has the petitioning spouses' name here. Which should I do?

PS thanks to everyone who contributes to this amazing resource.

12/24/2010 I proposed. She accepted and stayed.

02/25/2011 Married!

03/19/2012 FINALLY submitted the AOS paperwork: I-130, I-485, I-765, etc.

03/23/2012 Received notification that USCIS has received everything.

03/26/2012 Biometrics Appointment Notice: April 23, 2012.

04/02/2012 NOA's received. Now we wait...

04/23/2012 Biometrics completed.

05/18/2012 EAD card mailed but not yet received.

06/06/2012 Rough interview but we think we're approved! Website says i485 status "Card Production".

06/12/2012 We received the "Welcome the United States" letters! Website says Green Card was mailed.

LIMBO: Green card lost in mail. Facing the possibility of paying hundreds in fees and basically repeating the entire process.

All good now! USPS lost it, then found it.

04/24/14 Back to VJ to get help with I-751, Removal of Conditions.

05/31/14 Mailed I-751 finally, with less than a week to deadline!

06/02/14 NOA1 (that was fast!)

07/01/14 Biometrics

7/25/14 Approved for Removal of Conditions

19. "Your relative's address abroad". She lives with me in the US now, and is no longer living abroad. Okay to say "None" here?

I believe that this is referring to previous name changes/ maiden names not pet names or nick names.

I had changed my first name so my birth name is not the same as my legal name. So I put my other name as Jessica Rabbit rather than the name I have now which is Ariel Rabbit. You understand?

Put the name that is your legal name as your name. Unless your other name was a name change that was legal there is no need to put your nick names. Same thing goes for your wife.

Go with the VJ guide and form instructions. It asks for name of spouse so put the name of your spouse in that section.

I put N/A in section 19
