Passport Photo

I wear prescription glasses and got my passpoer pictures taken with my glasses on. Here on Visa journey it says should not wear glasses in picture but USCIS doesn't mention anything about wearing glasses.

I am confused if I should go get another set done without glasses ?

Doing passports now, remove your glasses, all jewelry, no smiles. They are using some kind of facial identification software and that extra stuff messes it up. Why risk it?

Hi! my wife had her ear ring on while she got her pictures for Passport Card . and was no problem. i dont think there will be a problem wearing prescription glasses.

Your passport photographs must be:

•2x2 inches in size.

•Identical.

•Taken within the past 6 months, showing current appearance.

•Color.

•Full face, front view with a plain white or off-white background.

•Between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.

•Taken in newnormal12 street attire. Uniforms should not be worn in photographs except religious attire that is worn daily.

•Do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline.

•If you new normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your picture.

•Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.

I've always been asked to remove my glasses for passport photos , including those I've sent to USCIS. I am also always asked to remove my glasses when I go for biometrics at a field office (even my state id too at the DMV)

I suppose it's a truer picture of me as I will change my glasses over the years and I could easily start wearing contacts.
