Hi, I have a question on DS-230. As you might be filling up your DS-230 form so I think you might be the best person to answer my question.

I am preparing for NVC as I got my approval on 15th of this month. I had downloaded DS-230 form from Department of states website. But the form does not allow me to enter my Family Name, First Name and Last Name in Part II in question number 36.

I remember few months back I had downloaded the form and it allowed me to fill up the details for this. But now it does not. I even uninstalled the Adobe software from my computer and again installed a higer version, 9.0. But still it does not allow me to enter characters in those 3 fields. Could you please check if you are able to fill up those 3 fields. I really can not understand whats going wrong here.

Thanks.

Capital letters, in black ink would be my fix........glitches in the forms isn't unheard of....

here's my way of i went about form glitches (for example, these forms dont let you exceed a certain amount of characters or adjust font size if you're electronically entering the info). this assumes you have access to Adobe Acrobat (the normal adobe, NOT THE FREE ADOBE READER - if you dont have access to it, you can purchase from adobe for 100 bucks - well worth it in my opinion). I 1st would save the file from adobe acrobat as a jpeg. then open MS word and insert the jpeg form. resize the jpeg to the full page. once in word, you can type whatever the info into a text box. make sure you dont have any borders/shading for your text box and make sure it is "brought to front". now you can take that box and put it wherever info box you want to fill. another thing you can do is use the typewriter function in the full normal version of adobe acrobat where you can adjust font (but sometimes the form doesnt let you do that, so then use the ms word trick above). of course, you can always enter by black ink (assuming your handwriting is legible)! I just prefer things to be typed up, so there can be no confusion as to how it is read. good luck
