AOS Questions and Past Tax Returns

My question is about AOS. We already filled the 2010 Tax Return and we are above poverty guidelines. Our problem is our 2009 Tax return (short by less than a thousand dollar) and 2008 tax return meet the requirement minus (not counted) the principal immigrant.

Do we need to get a co-sponsor? Or are we going to be fine?

Opinions greatly appreciated.

I think you would be good to go but that's just me. 2010 Tax year and current income would probably be most critical.

...we filed last December...then we had our interview last March 17 and got APPROVED!!..they just took our 2010 Tax Transcripts, W2's and 4 current paystubs...so I guess you don't have to worry as well!!.God bless...:-)

oppss...btw, submit your 2008,2009 ans 2010 ITRs and W2's and 4 current paystubs to support your I-864..:-)

Yeah is Tax Return 2010 sufficient? My husband has been a student until just recently and got a full time job in January 2010. He had no income in the last 2 years (he still did his taxes). So this should be enough, right?

Hi Guys,

We recently found out...well while thoroughly reading the instruction of AOS, that if you are self-employed using the 1040 form, then we have to use the gross and not the adjusted gross...we got no problem at all on all the recent tax return.

If you were not required to file a Federal income tax return under U.S. tax law because your income was too low, attach a written explanation. If you were not required to file a Federal income tax return under U.S. tax law for any other reason, attach a written explanation including evidence of the exemption and how you are subject to it. Residence outside of the United States does not exempt U.S. citizens or lawful permanent
