so can i call and schedule an appointment or do i have to wait?

It will have to be logged into the embassy system. I don't know about your country but I found this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican Republic&cty=Santo Domingo. Good Luck :)

So do they send the case to the embassy before the interview is scheduled? They told me our case was completed on 12/26 and it looks like only one package has gone to Honduras since that date. I called today and they said they still dont have the interview scheduled. Does that mean the case is still at the NVC?

thanks for your help. We are crossing our fingers for a Feb. interview date.

I think the case needs to reach the embassy first and then it's scheduled.

This is most likely your package since you said they told you it was shipped on 12/26/12. Waybill: 8898036814. It arrived on January 2, 2013. I hope you will hear from them soon. Good Luck on your continued journey :)

I'm not sure if it is the same for all types of visas. I know most people are filing for fiance visa and ours is for my step dauther so i dont know if that makes a different or not.
