I don't get why people are joking and saying "it's about time"...that's so mean. This was his job and something he loved to do and something he thought was right. I NEVER saw it coming no matter how many times I saw him and thought he was out of his mind. I hope his wife and kids are okay. It's so sad.

In Australia we are taught to respect the wildlife and not interfere with them. Stingrays do not attack. They are very shy creatures that will only defend themselves if put into a place where there is no way out. The same applies to most of Australia's wildlife.

i wonder if you died in an unusual way that people would say the same thing. it's pretty heartless at a time like this.

he died doing something he loved which doesn't happen to the majority of people. i thought he was a bit gungho but i still repect him for the message he was trying to convey.

Go fly a kite. This bloke knew that sooner or later he was going to die..and in case you dont know, he had a US greencard and went though AOS like all of you on this site....so if you cant get a simple joke, blame your genetics and your parents, not me.

I think he commited suicide by letting the animal sting him, apparently because his wife sent his I-129F for a K-3 visa to CSC and it was taking too long before he could see his family.

I wish his family sues USCIS!!!!!

Your suicide comment, to me, is bourne out of ignorance. As I already stated, he was a professional and safety was a high concern of his. I am not going to get drawn into an argument about that point other than to direct you to my first post in this thread.

Regarding your joke, there is a line, some call it decency, some call it decorum. Either way you stepped WAY over it and the lack of tact and taste you displayed is truly offensive to me. I will not get drawn into an argument with you about that point either and I recommend that everyone ignores any further comments you have about the whole matter as it is clear that you are simply inviting a verbal battle. We now know your opinion and arguing about it will not enhance it or get any agreement whatsoever from me.

Seemed to me he took a lot of unnecessary risks. Lot of other TV naturalists got close to nature without playing for ratings.

Sad he's dead, but from a creature that isn't usually deadly there's a kind of irony there I suppose.
