Is there anyone else from June, for the CR1, who was approved but still not issued? We are pretty discouraged at this point since we had a clean interview and approval. Our dates have only updated when I've emailed and gotten the same canned response back. There is some solace knowing a couple people were just issued last Saturday after a long wait as well but I was just wondering who else was left on here. We were told 2.5-3 weeks and we would have our visa in hand. It's one month to the day today (over 4 calendar weeks) and we aren't even issued yet. I thought about emailing again, but that doesn't seem to help in any way lol...

I am so sorry to hear that. I don't think emailing again would do any help at this point. I simply don't understand why couldn't they tell us a more accurate processing time since people obviously have to make plans moving/travelling etc.

Did they tell you after the interview that it's gonna take 2.5-3 weeks?

I just noticed another member who interviewed on the 17th, got issued yesterday. I am starting to worry, because we were told our visa will be printed on the same day of our interview. We have been waiting for this moment for so many years too.

The 17th of July? For a CR1?

yes July, no CR1, K1.

K1 and CR1 are processed differently. It doesn't make sense to me but the K1's through all of this the last month have been issued way faster. You'd think it would be done the same since both parties are entering the country...

IR1 = marriage more than 2 years

CR1=marriage less than 2 years

I have seen generally k-1 visa are issued much faster than IR1/CR1.

Oh wow, I can't believe I just came across the meaning of this! Thanks for clarifying. I would think married couples would be processed faster, no?

Yeah you'd think that by logic, those of us who went the extra route for proof of relationship and all that would be easier and quicker. Personally I would think that there would be a greater possibility of an immigration issue to arise from a k1 than the CR1/IR1 considering how much more things you have to do lol.

It's like all the press that came out when their systems were down about the rush and importance of issuing non-immigrant work visas. Farmers were all up in arms about losing their crops because they couldn't get their non-citizen workers...something just seems so wrong about that to me...

Oh well nothing we can do about it I guess.

Yeah its hard to understand how the systems works. If I keep trying, I feel like I will go crazy.

...But who knows, maybe all we have to do is be hopeful and maybe the good news are just around the corner.

For now, I am going to take at least few hours break guys, from checking my computer!

Stay cool, I will try myself!

K1 visas are a non-immigrant visas, whereas CR1/IR1 visas are immigrant visas. (K1 applicants do not become immigrants until after they are in the US and have applied for an adjustment of status.) I assume that non-immigrant visas are generally issued faster because consulates process far more non-immigrant visas (approx 6,000,000/yr) than immigrant visas (approx 50,000/yr). It makes sense that each consulate would have a bigger staff working on non-immigrant visas, especially since many other non-immigrant categories are more time sensitive than immigrant visas. This is just a theory, but it might explain why K1 applicants seem to get their visas back faster.

I've decided to take a break and stop refreshing the CEAC website for couple of days until probably later Friday. I have a feeling they will issue a bunch this Friday (both K1 and IR1/CR1).

I would go crazy if I just endlessly refreshing that website and end up with the same "ready" but not "issued".

Yeah I know the difference and how it works but to me, from a logical perspective it would be way easier to have an immigration issue from a non-immigrant visa applicant than from an immigrant applicant is what I meant.
