July 1 Issued (application processing)

July 2 status date update

July 6 ISSUED (receive in 5 days message)

July 8 Waybill (received 9pm)

July 9 Picked up from Loomis (Drummondville)

July 10 POE

Did my POE at the Montreal Trudeau Airport. Make sure you arrive with an hour extra planned. Example instead of 90 minutes before your flight arrive 2.5hrs in advance. My flight was at 6:30am this morning, there were actually a few flights, so there was a long line at security and at customs. In customs I had to line up on the side of US Citizens and Permanent Residents (a first). I gave my declaration form, passport, boarding pass and the sealed package. The customs officers asked how long I waited for this and I said "A long time." He brought me the the back and told me to wait till he called me. I waited for maybe 20minutes or so until he called me into an office. I updated my address since that is where my green card and social insurance number will be mailed to. He pretty much just asked me what I did for a living, looked through the sealed package documents (which contained my medical exam and affidavit of support, and perhaps other documents) and just told me to go back and sit down until he finished filling the papers. Another 15min or so he gave me my passport back all stamped. He told me my stamp is good for a year, but since my passport expires in less than a year its only good up until the passport expiry. He said that before my passport expires if I didn't get my green card yet to make sure to contact one of the government agencies (I forgot which). He also told me everything was going to be mailed out today with the mail implying it shouldn't take to long to process.

I'm not sure if anyone else is facing this as it seems strange. We had our interview on June 22, so right during the downtime but close to the fix. We were approved and the officer told us we should expect our visa in 2-3 weeks because of the issues. So last week on July 7th I emailed the consulate just to see what the status of our case was since the CEAC website for us had been showing "ready" since June 26th. I got a reply back from them later that day saying the case was with a consular officer for review. Then all of a sudden the date got updated to July 7th.

Anyway, we saw people were in the same boat as us so played the waiting game. The date still says July 7th on CEAC in ready. So I just sent another email just inquiring again and explaining everything as we are now at 3 weeks without even an issue date. I got the same email back and our date is updated to today. It seems with every contact our date gets updated but it isn't doing it in between. Is this happening with everyone?

Apparently those who are interviewing now are being told 7-10 days to get their visa...

June 22: CR-1 Interview at Montreal Consulate = Approved

July 6: E-mailed Consulate as status has been 'Ready" since Interview with same date

July 7: Case Status as "Ready" and Date Updated

July 13: E-mailed, no update again

July 13: Case Status as "Ready" and Date Updated

July 24: E-mailed again, no update

July 24: Case Status as "Ready" and Date Updated

July 27: Date Updates by itself still "Ready"

July 28: Get Email from Montreal US Consulate requesting to go back and redo fingerprints

July 28: Drive halfway to Montreal

July 29: Get to Montreal

July 30 (8am): Redo fingerprints, consular officer apologizes for having us comeback for fingerprints, issues us the Visa on the spot

July 30 (3pm): VISA in HAND!

August 3: Florida move!

Our interview date in montreal was june 16th... approved with no issues.... we are also still in "ready" status on the CEAC website. We also emailed twice and were also told twice that our case is with the consular officer for review. Our status update date got updated both times as well... but has also been updated a couple times on its own but not since junly 9th as of right now. I asked them in my second email if being "with the consular officer for review" was normal or weather my case was under an additional review. They just repeated "as we said it is with the consular officer for review". There just seems to be no rhyme or reason to their process. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since our interview. I wondered if perhaps they are processing I-R1 visas quicker than C-R1's? We are waiting on a C-R1 visa. How about you?

We are CR1 as well. However, someone posted in another thread that they got their loomis email last week and they interviewed a full week after us for their CR1...so I don't get it...

And another day goes by with no change. Our file was last touched on June 23.

This Thursday will be ELEVEN WEEKS since our clean interview. Our file hasn't been touched in a week.

I can't even get a call back from our lawyer any more, and our congressperson told us "case closed." Truly feeling helpless.

I wish someone, somewhere would provide answers.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi

can you please let me know if you got your visa? I am asking you because it seems everybody got their passport back but my husband, we are the only one waiting from early May! If you can please let me know if you got it and what you did, if it is possible for you.
